The Pixel 4a XL is no more. But that doesn’t mean we can’t reflect on what might have been, and where the Pixel line in general will be headed later in the year. Here’s what we know so far about the Pixel that was never meant to be: The Google Pixel 4a XL.

  1. Well im going to oneplus im a tall guy with big hands wtf do i look like have small phone and i have big fingers oh well you would of had me

  2. I have a 3a XL and it's the best phone I've ever had out of alot of phones. Stock Google, A+ camera and A+ battery life is probably 3 main things people want. Without those things I'd feel like I'm downgrading

  3. I am willing to bet the reason the Pixel 4A isn't being released is because they are repurposing it to be a Pixel 5 especially if it's going to be mid-range.

  4. Still on my original Pixel XL. Was going to upgrade to the Pixel 4XL but then they ditched the fingerprint sensor and added face recognition, two terrible decisions. So I was going to choose the Pixel 4aXL but now it won't exist! Definitely not going for any smaller versions with their appalling tiny batteries. Would have had a Pixel 3XL but not with the ugliest notch in the history of ugly notches. Why is Google consistently making such terrible decisions with its new phones?

  5. After 5 iPhones in 10 years I Love my 3a XL, I would have updated to a 4a XL but I guess that is not an option. I will not go with a smaller screen and battery of the 4a.

  6. Why do people continue to lament a phone that was rumored months ago and dismissed as "not happening" months ago. We've all known that the 4a XL want happening months ago and at the time everyone said "it makes sense as the new 4a is larger than the 3a and a good compromise" now everybody and their brother are writing articles and creating YouTube Videos lamenting something they knew they weren't getting many months ago. I guess it helps drive traffic 🤷🏻‍♂️

  7. pity that they dinched 4aXL, but believed they left it too late to release 4a, all the hype & expectations went to waste, they have an extremely good product then, well lets see in July, maybe the price become even cheaper

  8. I'm not lamenting on the 4aXL why you might ask? Simple reason Google doesn't need to focus it's mindset on a alternative cheap version 4aXL, I have the 3aXL at the moment.
I'm curious if Google should rebrand the Pixel line up as they did with Nexus.
Keep it Stock Android but hardware give it a new name, such as Google Next Phone,
Camera situation should have a wide range and telephoto at a starting affordable price.

  9. Do you think, that Pixel 4a will be released with the next major Android version?
If the Pixel 4a will be released 2 month before the new Android version, will the Pixel 4a get one more major update more than the Pixel 5 (which will probably be released with the new Android version)? Or will the Pixel 4a be very soon old, in terms of software, i.e. first major update in 2 month after release and the two subsequent releases. So in 2 years it will get the last major update?

  10. I think Google should've kept the 4a XL and made the Pixel 5 an all-out flagship with good specs. The first Pixel phones were some of the smoothest Android phones on the market at the time of release. Google should return to those roots.

  11. The 4a should've had a 765 chip and maybe and ultra wide. They could've sold such a device for around $450 and it would've been a hit.

  12. I think that the 5 will just be xl size and they'll cut the smaller size due to the presence of the 4a and the chipset being almost the same. It saves them some extra money too

  13. I'm sure the smaller version sells better. But the combo of a bigger battery along with the mid range processor assured amazing battery on the 3a XL.

  14. I don’t understand why Google is still not releasing the 4a. By delaying it more, the hype is slowly fading down and people will look elsewhere like SE 2020. Not to mention, the Pixel 5 (and iPhone 12) is just a couple of months away. Unless Google was “challenged” by the SE that’s why they had to pull the release to make changes (maybe add a wideangle tho not gonna expect that) or they plan to release the 4a alongside the pixel 5 somewhere around August or early September before iPhone which I honestly think is a good idea to release their phone before iPhones do. Since the 4a is a midrange and the 5 would be the flagship.

  15. Still looking a for 4a. A larger phone like the Pixel 5 no, too expensive. As for nearly white absolutely not. The 4a XL might have been fine would have depended on price.
