Google Now on Tap contextually scans what is on the screen and automatically searches for keywords so you don’t have to fumble around as much anymore.

  1. Is google now on tap available in the previous version of android OS? Like does the updated google app has it regardless of OS?

  2. this is nothing new to me. i already have my own system going using tasker, autovoice and autoinput. i use google now and autoinput grabs everything and tasker shows me what i need. yes this will be better for common things but i can already do more haha

  3. app specific contextual awareness is a great addition.  whats far more important is that you focus on eyes/touch free operation and refining google now.  from kit kat to lollipop, i lost my two most important phrases "navigate to john smith (a contact)" and "new appointment with john smith, tomorrow, at 3pm"  this used to fill out a card to completion and then require eyes to accept the appointment card.  now a card is filled out but its missing the title i just gave it. (meeting with john smith)  the conversation element is definitely welcome and a step in the right direction.  all the new bells and whistles are worthless if the core functionality isn't ironed out to completion or if we loose features.  fix yer stuff google!

  4. Now on Tap is really cool.
    I can't wait.
I still find it awkward to use the "Ok Google" feature in public though…
