We drop tested the original Nexus 7 a year ago, so we wanted to know how it would stack up to it. Last year wasn’t so good, so how does this year’s model fare? Josh drops the Nexus 7!

  1. I have dropped 7 time's it works well I bought it on 2013 and works till now like new but edges 're damaged and the back is little crack but works well

  2. I dropped my nexus 7 many times and it still turns on. Down side is it freezes when dropped, then I need to turn it off and on again.

  3. я и сам такой тест проводил, не специально правда

  4. So to protect your investment, get a good thick LEATHER case with corner protection. I use the Fintie. It saved mine a couple times when it dropped 😉

  5. Doesn't it turn itself off if it has a high-G shock, as i it was dropped? Ifyou can't get the screen on, maybe you need to re-start it…

  6. Mine just slipped out of my hands from 5 feet onto the hard floor tiles. I was sure my N7 was proper assfucked. Luckily not even a scratch, but did turn off. I had to hold the power button for 15 seconds, praise the lord!

  7. I accidentally drop my nexus 7 2013 on my table and its fine (onlyscratches)
2nd i drop my tab facing on the ground and its fine only cracks on sides and also working pretty good

  8. My 2nd gen Nexus 7 fell off from the top of my bunk bed sideways a couple of weeks ago and it didn't break (I fell asleep while watching youtube videos and I found it leaning on the wall the next morning). Then I accidentally dropped it again yesterday morning twice (I was carrying it under my arm and it slipped off before I cross the street and the second one fell off my lap when I'm about to get off the bus.) but still it didn't break, cracked the screen or had problems with the device itself. So far, It still works like nothing happened. The good thing is I had this cheap $8 tri-fold casing on my tablet. Yes it's cheap but it really did a good job protecting my device or I guess I just had a little bit of luck.

  9. Ps….I have my asus memo 7hd in a folder type case. I've done some low level drops ( 2-3feet), on carpet and hard surfaces without any damage.

  10. I think this test might have been more informative with the Nexus "turned on".
All I can say is you've got guts buddy and probibly a great service plan!

  11. How do you know that the drop on the back did not weaken the Nexus internally, making it fail the side drop?  Really, you need 3 tablets to test….
