I see this as an advantage for people that don't have the ability to drive, or disabled or elderly. On the other hand, hundreds of thousands, if not in the millions will be put in a situation where they are forced into poverty. If Uber for example, I should say when Uber replaces all of the drivers with self driving cars this will cause a huge social catastrophe. Imagine all of those people unemployed, and some will say "they should have gone to school", surprisingly many of them are college educated currently out of a job. Imagine this technology substituting the pizza delivery drivers, how many more people out of a job, carry this on to the bus drivers, to the garbage truck, the big rigs…. man the are only so many McDonald's to hire these people. What do you see coming? A higher criminality rate, a lower quality of living things are getting more and more modern and the human is getting outdated. Sadly this week eventually happen at some point, my generation might not see it but sooner or later it will come to realization. I ride a motorcycle to work, and I caught myself thinking how will the self driving cars react to a motorcycle riding past it? Don't get me wrong I enjoy most of the tech stuff these days, but I think our huge technological achievements may very well the beginning of something we don't really want to see.

for a taxi yes but not daily driver since it litterally takes no effort and wouldn't be fun and it could get hacked into…..I'll take a road runner,gtx , or challenger please

which is suffering from high levels of air pollution it's the perfect place to start running the Google car or the Gcar . The traffic speed is below 30 mph . perfect place for testing and the car safety levels are very low .

I don't own a car at all can't afford one even if I wanted one. But I manage quite well without one. Even in the cold chicago area winters that I have to deal with every year.
