With the Galaxy S24 Ultra Samsung chose to go with a 5X zoom over the 10X zoom that was on the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Is this a downgrade or can it actually better than the 10X zoom?

I acquired my S24 Ultra prior to its release on January 31, 2024. I find it absolutely delightful and quite remarkable for its 10x zoom capability up to a maximum of 200. However, all the zoom capabilities are dependent on the subject matter and the particular photographic approach being employed.
night shots? video?
!diotic comparation
Worst call ever, i use the 10x all the time, and for a photographer it means you can get good enough pics without having to bring your real gear with you. Its also crazy how useful it is as a tool to actually see what stuff is far away, the examples of the s24 ultra at stupid far zoom isn't nearly as good, cant read signs and things look like a muddy mess. With my s22 ultra i can read signs at 100x from way too far away. They should have just replaced the 3x with a higher quality portrait lens and then updated the optics and sensor on the 10x. I'm 100% not willing to lug around a massive phone for a 5x camera. If they made the small s24 or flip with just the 1x and 5x only, i would for sure get rid of this massive phone and live with the smaller zoom.
I use the 10x zoon as a third eye as i am visually impaired. When i saw the change and someone testing the 5x, they mentioned the 10 x was a bit better then the 24U. Seeing this makes me not wont to upgrade as i use the 10x all the time when im at work seeing small numbers on bottoem shelves insted of having to bend over or be on my hands and knees just to see such little info
Come on! Would including more 10x be too much work?
The thing which annoys me is a photo nerd, is the 3x zoom. The phone has now 1 excellent and 2 good sensors, why even bothering with the tiny 3x sensor…
For me S24U 5x has ZERO improvement over S23U 10x
great comparison, thank you for this!
Why not leave the 10x focal length and also go with the 50mp sensor? Samsung kills me always giving us cool features then ripping them away for something stupid
So disappointing they took out the 10x. Maybe if they had added a 7x or something than yeah it would've been okay.
Not really 10x and above on s23ultra is better and I normally use 10x and above rarely 3or 5 x
man, it's basically like there's no real world difference
Wow very honest review….
0:41 Your intro is still giving me OnePlus 6T Vibes I don't know why…
It is really stupid to compare a new phone to last year's phone. This indicates that new phones do not have anything companies offer that are worth upgrading to.
Nice to watch a honest review about the cameras. Could u guys do a comparison with the base models, s23 and s24?
I used that 10x zoom for videos quite a bit.
