Today we have the honor of bringing you Darnell Phillips story. A man who was sentenced to 107 years in prison, and who would spend 30 years in prison before he was exonerated. This is the most powerful story we have ever had the opportunity to share with you. And there is so much to his story, we had to make it a three-part series. Today begins part 1. And I truly hope you enjoy and root for this man who should have never had to experience prison in the first place.

  1. My cousin Derrick Gatson was wrongfully convicted of murder in 1996 he has served 24yrs n still is incarcerated everyone know he was innocent except for the judiciary system…He is incarcerated n Columbia SC he just wants his freedom back…

  2. Did you know that we must repent of our sins? Also, do you understand what sin is scripturally? Sin is transgression of the Law, 1John 3:4.
We must also believe on The Master YAHUSHA and receive the covering and witness of YAHUSHA. We must also trust and obey YAHUSHA.
What is the law? The law is the first five books of the bible.

Yes, faith saves you. But did you know that TRUE faith will produce obedience? If we have genuine faith, we will obey YAHUAH’S law (TURAH) and we will repent (which means to turn away from our sins and stop sinning willfully.) If we ignorantly stumble into sin (remember that sin is the transgression/breaking of His laws) and trust in the Master YAHUSHA, He will forgive us. Favour is what allows us to be the men and women that YAHUAH the Father in Heaven called us to be. It allows us to obey through His Set-Apart (Holy) Ruach (Spirit). 🙂

  3. I can relate to this man, i was in the same seat.
Not for the same crime and it wasn't racial but the fact that they have the power to lock you up with no evidence is sickening.

  4. Does APS do stories on the corruption of the court . I was found innocent by 12 man jury ,arrested with no probable cause, cops do what they want, DA makes up charges ,judges cover DA and yes, in Louisiana, appeals court cover the district courts. Met all the requirements for a malicious prosecution case against DA and everytime we're ruled against . After almost 3 years of that, finally gave up.
Black or white, it's the same story and we truly cant do anything about it.

  5. That's a really sad story but I like dude ego he cool in I can tell he didn't let people get the best of him or cared wether he was judge because he knew he didn't do that in they gave him that much time it's a different feeling 💯🤦🏽‍♀️

  6. Wow the greatest country 🖕🏻 sorry but if u r arab or black…they gonna put u in jail even if u r innocent

  7. You see these stories alot and it's fucking terrifying man for real I could not imagine getting charged and incarcerated for a crime I truly did not commit. Especially fucking murder could you wrap your head around that shit like all the sudden boom your facing life in a cage for being falsely accused. All those prime years stolen from you it's sad as hell

  8. there is absolutely no retribution or any form of compensation acceptable for wrongfully spending 30 years in prison. Trust and believe he's not the only one doing time on false charges. ……… and they wonder why the police are not trusted by the black community.

  9. My 18 year old brother is in county right now for this same shit, but they were saying that he held them at gunpoint while inside a fucking library..they make up some weird ass shit to get blacks jammed and fucked up.if my bro ends up dead in prisons my sks is coming out to play.FREEDOOM DON'T RING THIS CHOPPA GONE SING.

  10. First the system must fix at least giving some time in jail to the judge who allow this to happen even the officers too.that.s not fear at all I can't believe it..

  11. Thats fucked up, cause this dude seems like a real cool dude -even after spending decades locked-up. And again, I hope he sued the shit outta the govt. Only an evil monster, psychopath, would wrongfully accuse an innocent person

  12. This is why I have no faith in the justice system. They say innocent until proven guilty but in practice and in reality it's guilty until proven innocent and the officer, judge even jurry have already decided before the process even starts

  13. the police that wrongfully convict people intentionally to close a case … if beat in trial or by DNA ect that cop should take that man's place .

    Period

  14. This guy seems harmless… wow… but there’s no systematic racism we just emotional and over reacting to everything us blacks. Nothing there just us being black and being victims right
