3. Im old school i suppose. Theres nothing quite like reading from an actual book . I think reading of any type should be encouraged ,especially if youre locked up. Maybe this would be a good humanitarian project for APS. Do a donations based reading program for inmates.

8. $1.80 per hour to read a damn book. Man that’s sad. Just an hour of reading a day, for an entire year, would cost $657.00. And of course when it’s $0.05 a minute($3.00 a hour) that’s $1095.00 a year. Ridiculous! It’s almost like they don’t want these prisons to allow the inmates to do productive things.meanwhile the inmates are making between $0.04-$0.58 an hour. Huh?!?!

39. This is coming to Connecticut if the increasing rumors are true. They also are talking about going only to video visits and eventually only emails no letters are cards. We are in year 13 of my husbands 40 year sentence. This change would be devastating. It’s bad enough our daughter who was 13 when her dad went in and has become an accomplished artist has never been able to draw in front of her dad. Now if these changes happen, my husband who is an avid reader won’t be able to read as much. He is also a writer and we already have found with property who tried to take his notebooks. But if we don’t see him face to face and we have to pay for the privilege it’s going to be a whole lot harder on us and then if they do away with letters. We have to pay to send him emails and pay for him to read it. It’s just awlful
