2. Damn, this article had potential to get people to empathise with these women. I don't think anybody who's rational thinks that women have it worse in prison, it definitely has a different psychological effect on women, however i wouldn't go as far as saying they have it worse..

3. I'm glad you weighed in on this, because I also saw this article. Most of what I know about the experience of doing time in prison comes from this channel, and as I read the article I was thinking "why would it be OK for a woman to get away with acting that way, but not a man?" The whole tone of the article seemed to be that because so many women in prison have been abused and have such delicate fee-fees we should give them special treatment instead of expecting them to take responsibility for their actions like grown ups. Complete BS, I say.

16. In a woman's prison, when a CO pisses off an inmate, she will almost always talk back and verbally fight, but in a men's prison, when a CO pisses off an inmate, there is a very strong possibility he won't say a word and hel just stab the CO.

22. I was just released from the va Department of corrections vccw oct 18, 2016. I being a female have allot of insight on this. It can go both ways. And i have allot of stories. Some funny ass shit honestly.

25. I absolutely disagree with this sham of an article.
    Every single woman I have spoken to about this said that incarceration was much worse for men, that it was harder & more violent, & that the sentences were usually harsher. I personally witnessed two female inmates curse at guards & receive nothing but a verbal warning.
    The females interviewed for the article sound like they are used to having a rude attitude out in the real world with no consequences, & the fact that the article insinuated that it's harder for women to be separated from their children (which is the same thing as saying it's easier for men) proves the bias of their statements.

All I was left thinking is America holds 25% of the world's prisoners something like 2 million I don't know how many God damn facilities they have that that being said I could go to certain prison to get the results that I want maybe I will go to the softest level 1 Men's prison and then I'll go to like maximum security female possibly they just knew which facilities will give them the results they wanted they went to 15 to facilities over how many states why not just do one state every facility that might give you a better picture instead of picking and choosing to get the results you want come on man this is b*****

32. Probably because on the outside women get away with behavior that would get a man beaten half to death. And they become used to it. Then when they're in prison they find out that there are suddenly repercussions to mouthing off. A man will know that if you mouth off to the wrong guy then that's not just going to slide.

34. Ya'll probably don't actually read these, but I was locked up while pregnant. I had two cell mates ( we were 6 to a cell) that had killed their children. Not super on topic here, but yea.

35. I think prison was designed for men and had to be adapted to women to so they have different conditions and could be worse circumstances.

36. Never been to prison but I feel this article is a bunch of b.s n I am a female. Mouthing off to the guard is obviously a no-go then the part about how the prisoners were mothers..like you said, fathers are also locked up so why should female prisoners be treated any differently than male prisoners

37. It's becuase men can work together even enemies sometimes got eachother's back but woman naw they are crazier and dont listen.

38. I was in prison and females were forced into sexual situations by male and female guards. If they were caught, the convict was harshly punished, even if they were forced into the situation. Also, if the convict becomes pregnant, the punishment was even worse. The guard would only receive a reprimand or possibly a suspension. The convict would be put in the hole and be placed as Max custody inmate, regardless of their initial classification.
