Airline is so helpful!
I think not was resolved well… what a joke!!!!! Just let the father hold his son! The son would be in a much safer situation than that car seat. It looked flimsy to me
ADA
Having a disabled son, you need to keep them safe as his dad, if you were in a car it would be unsafe to have your sweet boy on your knee..this is for his and your safety if anything happened to the plane your weight would crush him. Our disabled son was in a wheelchair at times, you are doing a great job in challenging circumstances. 🇬🇧
Wonder if any of the airline employees here still work for southwest?
Handicap? Wtf century does she live in
Marcus looks like such a sweetie, what a great dad.
As well meaning as they may be, regulations like this don't take disabilities into account. They say it's "for safety", but for someone with low muscle tone, it becomes less safe for them to be in a seat on their own. I'm glad they came up with a solution, but the federal regulations need to take these things into account.
This is the America I want to live in – one that is compassionate and cooperative.
I feel that the dad was entirely appropriate and the solution was more than appropriate.
Oh my heart breaks for this innocent child
What a great dad!
Because the feds obviously know what's best for everyone.
This day in age, it is not unreasonable to expect major carriers to make ADA accomodations. Like, come on-take out two seats to accommodate wheel chairs. With that said, cheers to all for behaving well.
Such a sweet boy. Kudos to the airline for showing/giving respect and working it out with this father.💕
Nice to see adults acting like adults and working together â¤
My son has cp, and I think staff handled this beautifully
Gotta be difficult but the guy was being kind of a D
I loved how this was handled in a calm and professional way …
Good father Atleast his bringing his son to see the world
Maybe adding those inflatable balls where people can go in to, in planes for people like that?
So they can still be admitted without a hassle. Not every kid fits in a babyseat.
If the plane happens to crash, at least the kid will be safe and sound in it's plastic ball.
Now I can hear you think; why not put everybody in such a ball then? If plane crashes in the sea and sinks, the roof opens up and all the balls float to the surface of the water?
Also hear the smarter ones thinking too: how does it go when you need to go to the toilet? – well yeah, I didn't thought that one through, maybe a concealed tube system for your body fluids?
LOL
But I agree, safety is number one!
That is so sad ! Ben the crazy rules !
It's great that SW helped with getting a car seat. I've watched enough of those air disasters tv shows to know a lot of airplane crashes happen either during the take off or the landing. You may think your strong but the force of impact could make you loose your grip if your holding on to someone else.
Yes he needs a seat why do they always try to change the rules and have an excuse for special treatment.
Great Job South West. The staff took care of the situation with LOVE . So respectful to the Child and Father.
