But you actually DON'T want them treated like any other child. You want to pretend your kid is normal AND at the same time, DEMAND they get their own individual teacher since there is no way your kid could possibly understand what the normal kids are learning. What this lady is saying is so contradictory. She says we don't live in a special world – but she DEMANDS special treatment for her kid – and for the school to pay for 1 teacher for each disabled kid – instead of putting them together and having one teacher for 10 disabled kids. She wants to pretend her kid is normal AND have enormous funds spent to pretend to educate her kid. She's kidding herself when she says they may need "a little extra help reading" – Shawn still can't read at 22.
