Tell us about your first car!
67 Mustang 302 2bbl 3 speed, a POS but I was 17 and it was mine! Don't worry I hot rodded it…
My first car that i bought with my own money is a 1975 Chevy Camaro, people don't really like the big alummin bumpers on those cars but I really love them a lot, its a fun car and I'm never getting rid of it for anything.
64 Galaxie 500 2-door h/t
Factory (gold engine) 390 4-barrel, FMX, 3.91
300 dur, 500 lift hyd cam
Bought at 14, mowed yards to rebuild eng & trans.
81 pontiac grand prix brougham, 2 door, 4.3L v8, lazyboy seats, doors as big as texas. pretty much gave it to a guy I worked with after a sob story about him not having a car when I went to college. I would pay stupid money for it back
1990 Toyota pickup…was damn near perfect when I got it but neglected it for 15 yrs and it got super rusty living in the Midwest…sold it for parts more or less but daily drove it for 15 yrs…not to many ppl can say that with there first vehicle
my first car was a '68 road runner i bought, when i was 15, for i think about 400 bucks in the late 70s. i miss that girl!
My first car was a 1970 1/2 Z28, in 1978. Couldn't find gas to run in it, lol. It had sat for about 3 years in an old barn, smoked like a train, and wouldn't make it a month without something breaking. Of course, I wrecked it being a 16 year old race hero. I then bought a 1974 Ford Maverick, and over the 13 years I kept it, transformed it into a very quick, pretty car.
My first car was a 74 Camaro. POS. Second vehicle was a 78 bronco.
My first car was a 1970 Cutlass Supreme that my dad financed so I could have transportation to get to work. Absolutely loved that car. Haven't seen one like it since.
Mine was a 1970 Mach 1 purchased in 1973. It was medium lime metallic with deluxe white interior. It had the rear window louvers but no front it rear spoilers. It had the base 351W 2bbl with an FMX auto. I added polished slot mags, 60 series tires, air shocks, 3.91 rear gears, a nice stereo, headers, dual exhaust, a dual plane intake, 600 cam Holley 4 bbl, a re-curved distributor and a hotter coil. It wasn’t that fast (14.7 1/4) but it was sweet looking and got a lot of compliments!
My dad's first car had a 74 comet competition orange or grabber orange
74 ford capri mkI
V6 4spd
Had a brand new 1989 Ford Taurus. I wanted a 1969 Camaro but my Dad said insurance would be too much.
First car I bought myself: 1985 VW Jetta
2nd car I bought: 1985 Foxbody Hatchback 5.0 (I was 16 years old for both of these cars)
My first car was a 1987 Chevy V10. My dad had the truck for years and I always loved the truck from a young age. Probably because it was lifted and had huge tires. He threw me the keys when I was 16. Still have the truck and will never sell it
1976, I told dad I wanted a car, he said buy t yourself so I did. A 1969 Olds Delta 88 hard top land yacht with a 455 4 barrel gas guzzler. Dad was not happy after the block long burnouts in front of the house! I went thru a lot of back tires for some reason… It didn't launch… it just sat there smoking the tires as it crept forward LOL Only time it really launched was when we put a pair of street legal drag slicks under it. Ran a decent low 11 second 1/4 mile.
Best use? Drive in theater on $5 car load night. Could stick 8 people in it, plus 4 fit in the trunk!
My 73 Z28, she was scary fast. She didn't have her original engine. She had a 350 2 bbl from a 67 Chevrolet, single points distributor. Oil burner, automatic turbo 350 trans. Full time posi traction 4:56 gears 10 bolt differential cover. She was great on gas mileage, but not oil mileage. She was also very hard to pass, and she would have you pinned in your seat, like I, said she was scary fast. She was blue with silver and a split bumper.
1989 Pontiac grand am that my uncle gave me when I was 15 cuz it had a electrical issue that nobody could figure out. I figured it out!
1961 Ford Falcon. $100.00
69 Charger. The HS buses were lined up in front of the commons. I pulled up along side of them. Power braked a rolling cloud, the bell rang, doors opened, wind took the cloud into the crowd. I had fun, the principal didn't appreciate it. Graduation gift to the school in '77'.
'69 Datsun pickup bought new in the same year. 11 cars/trucks in 50 years, don't have any of them.
I had the joy of meeting Jeremy years ago in MN before he was a celebrity. I called out his first car being a Chevy beretta. I was slightly off. Every Minnesotans first car is a FWD GM, mine was a 94 buick lesabre. I was the neutral drop champ of Chisago County, also took out a mailbox while rally racing it.
When hair gell is life🤣🤣🤣
Looks like I'm a little older than most on here (I'm 74 this year). My first car was a 1960 VW Bug and I lost no time finding a wrecked 356 Porsche and transplanting the engine into my bug. It became a true terror in my home town and was well known as a street racer. It started a life long love for VWs and holds a lot of memories for me.
My first car was a 1988 Ford ranger white and blue interior
1962 chevy impala. When I was 16 was bought when I was 4 years old and took to school for years then me and dad fixed it up and I started driving it. I'm 44 years old and still have it.
