  1. I had to swap my 4th gen 5.3 on my 08 Silverado and ended up with a 3rd gen 6.0. I had to get my old crank sensor pressed onto the 3rd gen engine and switch out the cam sensor as well. Then I fired it up and it was only running on four cylinders. I had to drive it home across town about 15 MI like that. I took the ECU out and brought it to some tuner guy and he charged me $200 I think it was to change everything so that it worked correctly. I've been driving it over a year like this and it runs pretty well. Unfortunately the guy who did it screwed something up and I have a massive oil leak maybe from the main seal I'm not sure, I just keep putting oil in it until I figure out what the hell needs done to fix it. I did put a Melling high volume oil pump on it and it has great oil pressure.

  2. Looks at the Yukon: Leaky sunroof, New wheels, and chipping paint is just too much work. Better scrap it.

Now..let's pull the motor, tesr it down, at FI, restore a 45 year old car, and swap the motor.

Lol. Spoken like a true car guy.

  3. The 5.3 and 6.0 is not an LS,it is an LS style with a cast iron block. Those locking tabs,I take off and toss.I call them pain in the ass tabs not needed.Autozone starters and alternators are trash called Durashit,Durablast and many more names. Will need tools on hand to replace them a lot
