In this show, we’re going to a truck demolition derby and you won’t believe just how much abuse a truck can take! Then, it’s back to the shop to show you all the secrets that make these derby trucks so tough!
PARTS USED IN THIS EPISODE:
Accel: Accel Supercoil for HEI Distributor.
DEC Headers: Forward swept 4-into-1 extended collector headers.
Edelbrock: Performer Series Camshaft and Lifter kit, Timing set.
Fitch: The Fitch Fuel Catalyst is NOT an additive. It is a long term fuel treatment offering a number of benefits: Insure Fuel Quality During Storage Increase Gasoline Octane & Diesel Cetane Improve Engine Performance (Horsepower & Torque) Improve Fuel Economy Reduce Emissions – Green House Gases Reduce Engine Maintenance Improve Oil Burner Efficiency
Kimberly-Clark Professional: SCOTT Shop Towels, WYPALL* Red Shop Towels, KIMBERLY-CLARK PROFESSIONAL* shop towels are ideal for your toughest automotive clean-up tasks.
M.O.P. Derby Products: This shifter will work on turbo 350/400 transmissions. The mounting bracket is made with a laser for a precise fit. This shifter is designed so it is very tight and does not move when hitting or getting hit. It has a easily removeable park lockout pin. The design also alleviates the problem of the shifter hitting you in the leg when you get hit.
Nitro-Plate: Coating of headers for derby truck.
Power Building Videos: Power Building Videos.
Stateline Transmission: Fully prepped Transmission.
The Industrial Depot: Industrial grade of bolts and hardware items.

Why did you weld the doors closed before you did any interior work?
Did they ever finish it and run it
Anyone that’s ever run derbies knows you don’t make as much as you put in
That truck was in better shap then my project truck mine is an 1981 Chevy
It must be nice to throw this nice looking and very restorable truck away .This just goes to show you don't use a truck in this condition for a derby these guys are a bunch of morons…you go into the ring with a junker that is no junker
Where did the shifter come from
Better check your local derby rules, a lot of these. Upgrades aren’t legal every where

"It's amazing that these trucks even still move."
Really?
Note for this I live in Wisconsin smack dab in the middle of the rust belt
I was at my local sawp meet in September and they had a truck derby. Saw a Chevy square body probably in less condition than any of those trucks and it lasted all the way to the rear wheels shredded down to the hub, rear axle dragging on the ground, and frame completely snapped in half. Only reason he got third was because his axle sat higher than the rims (what was left of them) and he couldn't move.
Now that's a truck that is amazing it still moved let alone ran.
Where is the rest of the build video??
Anyone know if they ever finished it 😂
You guys are all ways building some wild things have you ever thought about putting two rotors engines back to back
Is there a part two? Did you guys compete?
Alskd
Should show the video of it being smashed
Why is the lil girl being filmed so much shit is getting weird
Tommy has done derbys all his life. Sux yall didn't get to derby the truck for the show
I love a good demo derby but to see all those old squarebodys destroyed. 😥
That truck was to clean to be cut up. No one is putting a fully rebuilt trans that costs $$$$ to get destoryed in 15 mins in a derby truck. Ive seen alot to engine swaps at derbys but not many people dropping a few $$$$ on a rebuild bored over engine to have it blow a ring or melt down when the radiator blows because they always blow. Theres more money in that truck then most peoples daily drivers. Idk if they ever actually crashed it. But im thinking not and they pulled the engine and trans back out as soon as the camra was off because most derby cars cost between 500 to 1000 dollars
Should be using the newer crap instead of destroying classics!
This is why square bodies are 10k
This is sad to see these squares destroyed looks like these trucks could be restored and put back on the road my 82 square makes the 3rd old truck I'm doing and no wonder it's hard to find parts because people destroy them or mudrun the shit out of them…..🙄🤦♂️
People in Elmira NY build their demolition derby cars 6 months in advance of the Chemung county fair in Horseheadds NY. Some people build a Dodge stratus into a demolition derby car what is your take on it
Yall actually run the thing or wimp out and sell it to someone
To think, if you ran that truck around here it would be extremely under built. Also, round here people are using less square body trucks in favor of newer super duty fords and 3rd gen dodges. Maybe that's because most of the square bodies were used up, or full box frames are better, or both.
those trucks are so strong because they are a Chevy
Ah yes derbies before slider shafts, high dollar drivetrains, custom rims, engine and trans cradles. Back when it was fun and didn't take a year to build one car
Wow! You all cheated A LOT! That squarebody was not even close to stock.
Hey, let's throw 10 grand into a derby truck. Great idea!
All that work into the motor and transmission and it’s a stock truck build lol these guys are idiots. That stuff needs to be in a mod truck.
