Just last week Volkswagen’s CEO, Matthias Mueller, shut down the idea of a merger with Fiat Chrysler proposed by their CEO, Sergio Marchionne. But since then it seems Mueller has had a change of plans. At least he’s open to the idea and willing to discuss.
Autoblog reports in a press conference Mueller said he’s not “ruling out the conversations but that he wants to talk to FCA directly and not through the media”.
And although this is far from a confirmation of a merger between the two automakers, it may mean there’s already behind the scenes work behind the scenes on the details. Stay tuned to see if VW decides to open up for the discussion and more on this possible merger.

Hell no! It's bad enough working on diemler chryslers. They dont need to fuck them up with vw engineering. They cant even build a proper lug stud/nut. I worked at a vw specialty shop for 15 years and I believe the only good vws are aircooled, and ooze cool.
if they merge then FCA has access to Lamborghini
