i dunno how shell is only getting 87/89/93 here in europe we get 95 regular and 98 vpower. if vpower nitro+ came to uk, it would most likely cost 10p more per litre than regular in town, highway rest stops are more expensive for example in town £1.30 but on motorway services £1.45 or more per liter
Base gasoline can be produced by anybody. There is a minimum standard for fuel quality in the US and every refinery in the country makes the exact same base fuel at different octane levels. So, you could have an Exxon Mobil refinery supplying fuel for an entire region of the country and that base gasoline being sold at Shell, Sunoco, BP, etc. The ONLY difference is when the gasoline is loaded on the final fuel truck for delivery to the gas station. That is when the retailer brand, say Shell in this instance, gets their additive added to the gasoline to make it "Shell". And we're not talking a large amount either. Top-tier fuels have higher concentration of cleaning additives than base gasoline. The truth is, gas IS gas. But, if you're a sucker for marketing and it makes you feel good to fill up with a particular brand, that's your choice.

Ahh man i wish i went. I could have probably met all of you. Id love to tell you in person to the whole group of you that your videos helped me learn auto mechanics. And i live in Indianapolis i know where that hotel is you were at to its right by the river and by the canal to lol. I was surprised they stuck you in a hotel so far from the track Though but i suppose there isn't any fancy hotels around the track i guess but still. Anyway i could have also told you the story of my Uncle who raced on that track many times growing up jon paul jr until he had to retire because Huntington's disease was taking over. 🙁 You may have seen his name on a plack in the meusium

I'm a qualified UK mechanic. My uncle was an engineer on shell tankers. I drive an older car with a small 1.1 engine.
I can confirm shell v power does improve what little performance my car has.. once the ECU has had time to adjust for the higher octane. The car gets about the same mpg and runs smoother.

All my favorite car youtubers together what a great experience it would have been to share sometime with all you guys, to bad that I'm in Mexico.
By the way we do have Shell V-Power gas here but we don't get the same quality, in Mexico we get the region 4 version (Latin America), that is a 91 octane fuel and not 93 like in the US.
