Chevrolet debuted the Colorado ZR2 concept two years ago at the Los Angeles auto show. But now it’s officially ready for production. It offers the best of both worlds while it rides smooth in the city but has serious off-road power

I've owned both models of the duramax Colorado, the Z71 and now I own the ZR2 and I've gotta tell ya guys, the ZR2 I wouldn't trade for any other truck. I cant tell you how many looks I get per day while I'm driving around town or even on the highway and it rides like a dream. I haven't had time yet to take it off road and test it off the pavement but if it handles anywhere near how it does off the road as it does on it, there's nothing that little beast can't handle.
I think it looks promising.
My wishlist for GM:
1) optional 450 hp twin-turbo v6 from ATS-V
2) more powerful diesel
3) ZR2 package available for GMC Canyon (would look way better, IMO)
the diesel is only for the crew cab model, the ext. cab is gas only
I'm happy; it's been awhile since GM brought something that really pushes the envelope in the performance truck sector.
It seems they are more willing to take risks these days. Pretty much everyone in the industry told them it was a mistake to enter into the midsize truck market. Now look at them; they've had some wild success and even Ford is scheduling a relaunch of their Ranger. Plus they brought a small turbo diesel from overseas; which hopefully we'll see in more vehicles in their lineup.
want one
I think this guy drives a Tacoma because he doesn't seem happy about this at all.
its about time that Chevy made a statement. I think they've been falling behind with some of the more performance packages for their vehicles. I know it might be more of a niche market, but this market is pretty big and i appreciate chevy for bringing this to life
the Colorado would be so much cooler without those up swept head lights, upswept rear door window ledge, and different tail lights.
