Hurricane Irma made landfall in Florida over the weekend and brought devastation to the area. In efforts to help with evacuation last week, Tesla unlocked its range-limited vehicles for Florida customers, which extended the range of their vehicles and make travel easier in the insane traffic.

A Tesla spokesperson confirmed to Electrek that Florida owners of Model S and Model X vehicles temporarily had the full mileage capability of the vehicles’ 75 kWh battery packs. And while it was a great gesture from Tesla and the help it gave Floridians is no doubt appreciated, there is a small question of there being power capabilities that the cars have that customers just aren’t able to access…what do you think about it? Our thoughts and prayers go out to those now affected by Hurricane Irma.
