Switching semi’s over to electric is a pretty big challenge. The size and weight of the battery they would need to power it alone would be half the weight of the truck. Cost is another issue that may raise questions.

I imagine a system like this could easily be adapted to autonomous vehicles.
This is a great idea. Kind of… history repeating itself… remember electric trolleys and buses way back before GM & the oil companies bought them up and scrapped them.
