  1. I used to have a Miata and it was my first real sports car. It was a blast to drive. I had owned 67 Chevelle SS 396, Monza Spider, and a few others over the years. I currently am driving a Maserati GranTurismo. Ferrari made the engines for Maserati for a while. The engine sound alone was what put me over the edge for buying. The Maserati is a decent stealth super sports car. I had another GT and found out it stands for 'give ticket' . Maybe not a flashy as a Ferrari, but it still gets lots of looks. My Miata was as much fun to drive as my Maserati. I had always wanted to do a full build on Miata, V8, roll cage, wheels, rotors, rear end, transmission, etc.

  2. Why did you run 1.5" .120" wall DOM when all you needed was .095"wall. In spec Miata where every ounce of weight along with every way to cheat is king you already put yourself behind the 8 ball. Your about 25 to 35 whp short of a front running car in the scca or nasa and now a heavy cage. Your very lucky to be running at the back of mid pack to front of the back Packers. Way to go

  3. The NB1 fog lights were dealer installed, you can get rid of those and remove 6lbs from the front bumper. If it has AC, that can go and that's another 34lbs. The duct that replaces the evap housing is like 20 bucks from Mazda racer program.

  4. Just an opinion y’all are a little late on the build series in doing jdm mods and cool stuff like that . Everyone one has done what y’all are doing on YouTube. I feel like y’all are following rather than innovating on the platform. Kinda sad to see and depressing from what y’all use to be. Not excited on y’all builds like use to be. If y’all did out of the ordinary swaps or used weird engines on the Dyno that are common ex Ford Fusion 2.5l na engine or other random combos in certain applications that can open the world to other options. That would be cool.
    . Just an opinion.

  5. I have an 88 ranger and being a 4 banger fan the Miata engine would be my first choice. For all the head shakers reading this thinking a 302 or big block would be a better choice? Fuel here in Canada is now $5 55 per US gallon. Modern day technology and reliability paired with fuel economy sound like a good engine swap. My only dilemma? The truck is numbers matching with low mileage as is.

  6. Too bad you couldn't push the seat back into the trunk with a couple of love taps. Looks a lot better. You should take the engine next door for a refresh now that it's out. Get a turbo and a standalone with an integrated dash computer. Cheers!

  7. I miss my Miata, it was stolen right after I got it back from the shop getting the engine replaced. #2 piston rod decided to take a vacation while on the interstate. I had planned on running Spec Miata but when it was stolen from in front of my house, that dream died. Now I am just suffering with trying to rehab a couple Jeeps with no money to spare.
