  1. The connecting rod on this engine looks like it would make a good paper weight. Just clean it and spray it with clear lacquer paint. Wala paper weight.

  2. In high school I had a 1960 Dodge Dart with the 225 Slant 6.
That car was 25 years old when I got it although it had a very kind life.
I never had a bit of trouble with the engine (brakes sucked). I did change the water pump out it was wobbly but still wasn’t leaking:)
A nice steady power plant very easy on gas and enough speed to get on a highway:)
    Great engine!

  3. Why, is my question. Possibly the most pathetic engine ever. They may be dependable, which they really aren’t. A modern 4 cylinder engine will trash the slant six. What a waste of the me.

  4. The duster they end up putting this in made 70 hps with it's old engine. They tune this engine to make 132 hps. Almost a 100% increase in power.

  5. I have known 2 slant 6 powdered vehicles in my youth. Both were guttless dogs. To each their own but my advice is engine swap to a 318 or 340 small block. Will be $$$ and power ahead. 👍
