The cheap paint shop FAILED in a few places on the Jaguar job; but it still looks outrageous! Overall I’m pretty happy with it! Now let’s paint the wheels, brake calipers, and do a full brake job!

  1. I want to take mine to econo but I’ll make sure I do a prep including covering the wheel well and radiator cause I don’t want paint on those parts and take it in a tow truck there so I can remove all plastic parts including headlights and taillights I even might take off the bumpers and the spoiler too

  2. First vid: I'm prepping this myself! It's not hard at all.
Second vid: Guys, I don't know how to prep so give me a break.

  3. I'm not picking enough to mind someone else painting my car for that cheap, but I'd be that guy that rolls up with the car already masked off and a hand drawn chart with what isn't supposed to be painted. I have a Miata soft top and would be terrified they'd paint parts that are fabric.

  4. I have a jaguar and damn…shame on you tbh. Why the fuck would you paint it that color? Go with something basic if you dont know it turns out. Uh.

  5. I may be wrong but red brake calipers won't register the increase in horsepower until there white letters calling out the car or brake manufacturer. People make the same mistake with the windshield tint strip, no call out no horsepower.

  6. what about the door jams and under the hood and trunk, for a 500 dollar paint job, I think it looks good. if this car had cost you say 40k and you had did the 500 paint job, it would be bad but I think I saw in your other video this jag cost less then a few thousands so I say its the perfect paint job for the cost of the car.

  7. The paint shop should have fixed that missed spot on the front bumper, before they even called, to say your car was ready. Years ago, a body shop called me, saying my pickup truck was finished and ready for me. Upon arriving at their shop, I immediately noticed several loose trim pieces, and the driver’s door looked like it had been painted with a brush!

  8. Reminds me of the time Bam Margera painted the kitchen and everything in it blue, Including the bananas. THAT FRICKEN INTERCOOLER!!!!!

  9. i think you could have done far better with a harbor freight gun some lumber plastic sheets and lights who the hell paints over the dirt!!
reminds me of that flat dead squirrel some road painter just went over

  10. Y'all, my back is loaded with problems and of course, when I was younger, I did everything. I need help. I bought all the parts I needed, I tried cleaning my paint with alcohol and that made a huge difference but then I tried the shaker can color on a piece of aluminum and it came out fantastic. But after I put it on my hood, it looked like crap on a stick. I've got dents in my roof, I've got rear bumper issues but I bought the mouldings and chrome pieces, the last new wheel well in America for my car. I just have no place to work.
The concrete I do have was screwed up by the "repair". They told me they were putting down urethane but they didn't. It's just a concrete paint job which means that no matter what I do, I'm covered in chalk. I need an expensive makeover by people that know what they're doing.
I'm not changing colors. There is clear coat peeling that I could scrub on with the light scotchbrite pads but that's just a drop in the bucket.
Y'all, what do I do? I know collision repair shops won't touch anything for less than several thousand dollars because they've got insurance money usually. I don't. After seeing this guy's econopaint job, I'm hesitant to follow suit because I just don't have the back to do my own anything any more. I shampooed my carpet and it looks great but that really did stress my back to the max. I've hand fixed my glovebox, it's door and many interior things, thanks to JB Weld and my interior being gray.
Look, I do need a $3,000 job at least. Should I go with Maaco when there is some part replacement going on and car door dings and worse? Or should I try an expensive collision repair shop? Or maybe a thorough Econopaint selection? I'm stumped. Please advise.
One last thing. I have had a Maaco job on a different car 25 years ago and it came out pretty good. No complaints. But past jobs aren't a perfect indication of future jobs. This one is a bit more work…. more than a bit. What do I do?

  11. You got a cheap paint job that actually looks pretty good. The Jag isn't a show car. It looks presentable and if YOU spend a few hours detailing what THEY MESSED UP, the car will look fabulous. FYI most paint shops can sell you the same paint they used in a spray can and the clear if necessary. Masking perfectly is never going to happen on a $500.00 paint job. A little lacquer thinner can remove the overspray. If not lacquer thinner, ask the paint shop what to use. If you want to spend $5-10k on a paint job, it will be much closer to perfect. You saved $9500 and spending less than one day of your time will make a big difference. All in all…..not a bad deal.

  12. That looks god-awful . Why did he pick Smurf blue ? I would be embarrassed driving that cheap-looking piece of shit around.

  13. Hi Sam, next time when you have some tight wheel nuts get a 3ft piece of scaffold pipe and put it over the end of your ratchet, easy as pie. Love your videos, reminds me of my 320 cars and the fun I had doing them up to sell. 😉

  14. Some of that over spray could of been avoided if you just took the parts off the car like you are supposed to and maybe even masked it on certain areas for them but like the mirrors should of been off the car the bumpers also the wheel wheels and suspension that's a bit expensive but they did screw that up by over sparing that next time just take mire things off lights whatever you got to do like in the real world of automotive paint and I'm sure you'll get one heck of a paint job for cheap

  15. I would never ever never own another Jag again, every quote from a mechanic is $1,500.00. Regardless of how minor of a fix it is and oh yeah the weeks waiting for the part to arrive if they can find the part. That's what did in my last one no one could find the suspension fluid tank for my car. And nothing comes with a warranty they will put in the part but won't / can't say that part is going to not fail again.

  16. For those stuck lug nuts: position the breaker bar so you will pull up to lossen and place a jack under the handle to apply tourque. Works well.

  17. I knew your bodywork was off right on your first video. Your bondo doesn't have enough feather edge just from looking at it. Your wheelbase is panted because they just throw a wheel cover and spray right through anything. The best thing to do is to take your car in with some old rims for a paint job. Also never remove your wheels that way, just get a bigger breaker bar
