It’s Mopar’s turn! After completing rock-bottom budget builds on Ford and Chevy engines, HorsePower now gives a Mopar 360 the same treatment. The challenge is to make impressive street power with only about 25-hundred bucks to work with.

Throw something with about a 484 lift those motors wake up
Give me a small block wedge and I'm in heaven to me there was no better motor
Low budget MoPar build is an oxymoron… Who are you guys trying to kid? LMAO!!!!!
The white camaro was really straight going down the track.
What is that rod your using please let me know
What is that rod your using please let me know
I love all early 60s muscle 💪 cars but those Mopars hold a special place in my heart ❤️😊😊😊😊
Beautiful Mopar without a doubt 😊😊😊😊
A Totally Awesome Build
That would be a good truck and towing motor
360's are bulletproof
This show should be called little to no power. Instead of always filling in an already short episode, they should show more build procedure and optional parts.
Did he mention a tissypukler…..
Feather Duster had Aluminum front end
I've got the same engine, only fuel injected, but it doesn't produce that much power. Seems like the main difference, other than the carburetor) is better timing and exhaust?
I’ll continue to shout from the mountaintops, until my dying day, that these small block Chrysler engines are the true LS fighters.
I got a 1966 Chrysler New Yorker that I got with a 360 out of a 76 motorhome. Recently I had connecting rod #4 break in half and blew my motor. So I got another 360 out of a 78 motorhome and am driving with that now. Just trying to figure out the sweet spot in regards to the timing. Had it set at 10 BTDC for a while, now it's sitting around 7 BTDC.
I have 1990 dodge w150 4×4 318 its fuel injection and wanna make 300 to 400 hp has a mild cam and has a charging problem wont charger charge when runing
The UN-power clown show. Even with all the bad acting and free parts they still can't make good power.
Can I LS swap but, inside the Mopar. Like in the cylinder or
in the valve cover?
Do a 318!
Some of the links are wrong, could that be fixed plz?
Up stroke the 360
i heard you could put a 318 head on a 360 block and get 250 hp because of the smaller combustion chamber on the 318 head
I'd love to see a 360 magnum rebuild on here
Please do a 360 LA.
Does any of the head bolts on the 360 go into water jackets
These guys are fucks. After seeing there 10000 dollar junkyard engine for 400 episode
F off with the commercials
The oiling system is Retarded. Were the Engineers that dumb that they couldn't copy a standard oil system?
318 and 360 made in Mexico is more powerful than the "gringo" versión
You think that oil system is weird take a look at the Ford 400 modified. The crank gets its oil when the cam is done with it 😳.
Great build to show what a mild mannered 360 can do! When you grew up on mopar and thousands of other engines in heavy duty use you DO NOT see full shaft mounted rockers with POSITIVE oiling not just pumping huge quantities oil in the general area of the top end as weird! We frequently removed the SIX bolt valve covers with a proper edge formed into it to watch them run! Everything mopar with overhead valves ran it as well as everything else ever seriously intended for industrial use. Is always amazed me how many baidaids and crutches brand x people were willing to pay for to get what we were blessed with in oiling, and valve train strength. Mopars always ran at least 2x the seat pressure and had much larger lifters prompting the CHRYSLER ONLY camshaft lobe sections in catalogs! We were especially blessed in big blocks which back in the day for mopar guys were very plentiful being the low grade ore base engines for any chrysler or imperial instead of small blocks. After working on one water pump, oil pump, intake manifold swap, or distributor which could be changed in minutes in the pits on a 383 after we took our sandwiches out from under the "air gap!" Intake at lunch we never looked back. Carrol Shelby showed in the 90s the complete myth of The mopars being expensive with a 360 being (at 1990 Dollars) about $600 cheaper than a 350 for the same hp with a durability statistic of at LEAST 3x better over 2 seasons in the same classes. However if im going to drive a truck everyday thats a Small block it would be a Chevy first. Gas mileage, cold starting and warmup sucked on the older LAs as well as oil consumption from poor valve seals. SBC are great with a slightly lopey cam, a good intake, and headers. Much more and pandoras box was opened. Looking forward to your hotter build. I also owned many of the worst examples of any LA, the mid to late 70s 318 and 360 Dodge full time 4x4s! 7mpg, cold blooded no heater! Great power tho. We always said the worst part about a 70s 318 was that it just kept going, ticked you off every day but you felt bad about ripping it out to put in a hot 440 that would actually double your mileage and cost the same to build. Keep up the good work! Not downing anyones motors, GM and Ford Smallblocks were in my opinion after over 120 vehicles much better than most LAs for mild performance and daily drivers. But since 18 yrs old i daily drive in all weather big BBMs always with more than one carb! 13yrs, 2500 passes, drive to work, haul grain, pull trailers same car 440+6 87 octane, 13.41 at 4860 lb 42 top eliminator trophies no breakages oil pan not off for the next two cars!
A good little build but they left some power on the bench when they put it back together. First they didn't say if it was over bored but a basic .30 over will give a slight but needed compression bump.
Second the heads were later castings with big chambers, nothing you can do about that beyond milling which would add to the cost, if I had to spend the money I'd go for a valve job and port clean up.
Last I would ditch the factory rockers for more precise rollers with a 1.6 ratio to help the mild cam a little. All that should be good for an extra 20-25 peak hp with improvement across the band. If you have the cash pick up some flat tops when you buy the pistons.
It's not a budget build 🤣U got a workshop U stupid bastards
