The ’64 Comet has the mockup motor dropped in and new motor mounts made. The Ford 4.6 mod motor is assembled by engine builder Sean Hyland, then tested on the dyno.

We can all do without your immature ending in promoting alcohol consumption, which this poisonous mind-altering substance has addicted more kids, destroyed more relationships, broken more homes, and injured and killed more people throughout time then all wars combined.
Should have went 327 c i. Stroker would have pulled another 30 to 60 hp with slightly larger cam profile.
I have a 5.3l 327c.i. 4.6l based rare cammer tr50 road race block. 13.5 to 1 Comp e85 fuel, cams spec by me, custom dual plenum cross ram intake/ram air , Dyno mid 500hp with old Edelbrock…. Have to retune for nee manifold but should put it over 600fwhp. Going in a 70 mav that is far from stock plus a dual stage nos kit 150hp each stage.
A 6.2L SOHC 2V BOSS V8 would be awesome as well.
"491 wheel hanging horsepower"???
I wish this car got finished with some sort of pay off video. It was one if my favorite builds because it was so different. A 2021 version would be cool with a NA Cobra Jet Crate engine or high compression Gen 2 or 3 Coyote on e85.
tha at the tirets not enough power to even come close to a AFX DRAG CAR even in 64 they had over 500 at the tire
LOL, bringing in a big time engine builder and spending big bucks to produce an engine that makes the same power as a new stock 5.0.
Its an engine Not a motor and mounts are suppose to have a bushing.
edit:
@Greg James, If the vehicle is for race as you claimed then why they driving it on the street?
400 hp from a 10,000 dollar engine sounds legit not
John Mhiovetz is the Mod man not this clown.
fkk that crap coyote junk. you want to keep it traditional A/FX put a 390-427 fe in it. you just ruined a bad ass car. you keep saying that your building it period-correct, yeah far from it.👎👎👎
Just keep cutting up old cars don't leave anything original Just crush the pos
You idiots… First you screw up the body and tag the build to a specific era, then you install an engine from as far from that era as is possible….
Idiots…
LS engine is more reliable and easier to put in and builds more h.p., than that damn boat anchor they trying to shoehorn in…And the LS will fit in alot easier
Ford has created way over 40 different V8 gas engine designs and not one is the true engine of choice for any racing series, nor do they out do Chevrolets 50 and 60 year old designs of SBC and BBC that are the engines of choice
why a 4.6 not a 5.4
490bhp at 6800? Surely that engine is good for another 1200RPM?
We need an off the shelf high compression 7.0L DOHC available for Ford and GM.
A newer Coyote V8 came make similar numbers with bolt ons and a tune.
This thing needed a big block FE motor.
I just loved that Cool intake. pop the hood and see that. Ow baby. !!!
Hmm Duster eats a Gen 3 Hemi, without chopping in fact i think Darts and all 67 -76 or so A bodies can get a 6.4, maybe a transmission swap would be needed ,SS Makes em
They’re definitely not acting in this one
Chopped up for a 4.6?
At 1605 I see a spinning locknut on that throttle shaft, Sounds good tho.
You are directing it to an electric motor.
Breakfast isn't complete without watching these old videos!
I don't know about you 😊 but I would of guess way more HP.
Attention Power Nation! I really enjoy the T.V plus channel! However when it goes to break and commercial…. instead of the screen saver loop…. is there a chance your team could put up like slides of the " do and don'ts"! Or specs and or complete build list of the project in the episode? Or perhaps mechanical tips and trade secrets? Food for thought. Thank you. Also sorry in advanced for wanting more!
a 351 clevland woulda been nice too. but points for originality.
Almost 100Hp/litre. Now you are near 1980s european cars👍
First cars to get these motors are the Lincoln Mark viii. I own a 98 LSC in chorcal green
I have a 65 in my driveway with an SVT 4.6 for sale with nitrous
