We all know Mercedes is known as a luxury automaker but with their new pickup truck, they seem to be expanding into the off-road market. For years the G-Wagen was the go-to if you wanted a more rugged Mercedes but now, The Drive reports the German automaker has unveiled their new all-terrain E-Class 4×4² wagon. It’s got 16-inches of ground clearance, 31-inch tires, a 3.5-liter turbocharged 328HP V-6 and portal axles.

Although it has more ground clearance than a Jeep Wrangler, it lacks locking differentials, a low range gearbox, and solid axles, which means traction is always going to be an issue, however, it still does a great job off-road. Mercedes is referring to the car as just a concept for now but they have received an overwhelmingly positive response from consumers so far, so we’ll see. Would you buy one?

This weekend starting at 9am on Spike, Mike and Pat have their hands full with the finishing touches on Project White Fright. From turbo piping, plumbing the brakes, installing a carbon driveshaft, mounting the new wheels and tires, and a whole bunch more.

Plus Katie features a restoration of a rare 1967 Jaguar Type E Roadster on PowerNation. The car had sat in pieces in a storage unit for years before the owners decided to restore it. And even more challenging, the owners wanted it period correct. After a three year build with over 2000 man-hours, it was back to better than new with a 4.2 liter engine with a 4 speed. The car only has 30,000 miles on it. You won’t want to miss it so be sure and tune in.
