Not exactly sure about the idealogy behind the way you are welding the frame together. No weld section prep would mean only the top 20~40% of the frame thickness is joined. It will be weaker. A butt joint is ok for a tack but it really should get a full fillet prep for the weld. Then add the "Fish Plates" on the out side to give the frame a connection that wont be a weak point.
Ain't gonna lie, this truck is very cool. Rudolf Diesel and Chessie Lyle Cummins would be proud at how far their technology has come in the automotive spectrum.
