Is the Audi A3/S3 just a $50,000 Volkswagen Jetta? Is the Audi Worth it?

16. Sorry, after having owned a 2014 2.0 R-Line Turbo Beetle and now an A3, there is a huge difference between VW and Audi. The Audi is much more comfortable, and even with the same engine, the performance is so much better. The reliability difference is huge too. I had that Beetle in the shop repeatedly for problems with the frameless windows, the keyless entry, you name it, that thing was at the dealership a lot. I knew I couldn't keep it past warrantee. I took the Bug back and my dealer suggested an A3.

    Very good suggestion. Years later, I have not had one thing to complain about. Brilliant, fast, reliable car. Was it a little more money-wise? Yeah. But not that much more. Here's what I have spent on my 2015 A3 besides warrantee and AudiCare: $140 for an alignment.

    That's it. I haven't even needed to use the factory warrantee for anything. That's the difference you should be talking about. That's what makes Audis worth the money.

23. There is a world of difference between quality and craftsmanship between the two. Not really comparable. Like comparing a Toyota and Hyundai simply because they are both Asian.
