Where to buy parts for ranchero 79 ?
I have a 1979 ford pinto cruising wagon, I definitely need this help with mine as well
Man I’m getting one soon from my girl’s family for $3000 a steal of a deal and it’s in mint condition inside and out just saving up so I can pay them and get it towed been sitting for a year but don’t want to drive it 34mins back home
Sir Cornwell drives a El Camino.
I seen people do that kind of work, it's one thing not to change a water pump but not the thermostat? Seen to many Fords die and bake after head gaskets etc. because the thermostat went bad. As bad as that water pump looked under the hose, I woulda changed it. Maybe he already did idk, good job anyway, nice to help people this way. I have a 79
I was wondering what these were called, I thought the El Camino was the only car-truck hybrid
Had a 78 ranchero gt, dad gave it to me. Wrecked it last year :/
That might be your problem buying auto light!
This is next level
Wish they'd have run a serpentine belt set-up & a throttle body fuel injection (a Windsor fuel injection could have worked also), along with a electronic ignition. Retro fitting a 351w is pretty easy.
I think I would gone the extra step and replaced the water pump while you were in there..great work nonetheless 👍
You can't polish a turd…
Elcamino is better
You should have removed the Ground before messing with the positive cable, always remove the Negative cable first, and never put a black cable on the positive , it should have been replaced with a red one, come on guys there are people watching you that don't know this stuff and now think well that's how its done, no
You guys did something really nice for someone in need. Thanks Power Nation!!
I would love to get a "79 Ranchero!!! Always been a Ford guy and the Ranchero is just a cool old Ford!!
Why not change the water pump while you're in there?
👍
The new radiator costed more than the car is worth. The amount of money that car would need to look good is not worth the time and effort to put in.
The biggest problem is it's a FORD.
👍🏿💯💯
HI
Tips I`ve learnt
1/ use Loktite powder flushing agent ,drive for 10 min
2/ remove thermostat and backflush eng block and heater
3/ service or replace radiator [debris will be inside core]
4/ fill cooling system will distilled water run engine until hot then drop out fluid
5 / refill with coolant
NB water pump either replace or if reusing emery tape the hose fitting to give a good hose seal surface
Lastly pressure test system to 15-18psi and check for leaks
Where's Mike?
I get the same reaction about my 79 Fairmont. I have a little more horsepower than him.
How terrific, new water pump hose installed over rusty spigot . Geeeez!
That’s awesome! I hope to have my 73 ranchero 500 up and running soon
So cheesy. Your producers and writers need to be fired. We don't want this scripted cheesy crap.
That's not the original air induction. The original is BLUE.
Putting a 4 role radiator on a stock 162 hp or less 351 is waste of money.
5:50 he didn’t name the plugs so they had to buy them.
8:20 why didn’t you pore gas from the old carb into the new carb? You wouldn’t have ran the battery down.
I can use some help
This channel is already at the top of my list . But when you go out and help people it just makes it all the better!!!
Not ugly! Those are some classic lines.. 🙂 I grew up with pintos, mavericks and thunderbirds that had that nose on them.. 🙂
i like those actually lol
I. Put two ten inch woofers under the bed of mine fitting boards on opposite sides and man did it thump. Without taking space.
god i hope they gave the entire block and cooling system a flush out before adding in new rad?/
The 79 Ranchero is the ugly duckling of the line. I've got a 73 GT, with the Q code 351 Cleveland and C-6. The 72 has a better looking front end.The previous unit bodied versions we're better looking and lighter, but more prone to the frame rails rusting out.
Nice story. I like restoring classic cars – if you can call classic cars from the 70's classic, lol.
I've got a similar 79 Ranchero, mine in a Limited 500,. Great cars , lots of fun, thanks for the video.
😁✌🖖👌👍 😎
I ALWAYS LOVE YOUR VIDEOS🙏 I Love the choice here.. the owner seems like a cool guy💪😎👍 nice build guys
Thanks that was interesting I worked at a boy's home part-time in 77/78 before I had my driver's license and they had a Ranchero just like that for the grounds truck that I drove from time to time brings back fond memories
Nice job guys! Tim's a happy and lucky guy 🙂
OMG I finally see a Ford Ranchero as these. I have a 78 Ford Ranchero Squire. Unfortunately mine has a lot of rust. Mine has the 5.0.
More shows like this one! Old cars.
Do they make a reusable oil filter for a 7.3 diesel 🤔
All they need to do is change the thermostat and tighten the belts.
