Most repair shops/collision shops will tell you that you need brand new seatbelts and an SRS accident after an accident. They do this so they can bill the insurance company more. By repairing and not replacing them in the Audi, I saved over $1800.

not gonna lie, this is art, restoring broken things and making them work again, and making money while doing it. 😀 thanks for the great videos. i've paid money audi parts in my life before so i know how expensive audi parts can be, so i'm quite impressed that you're taking on restoring such a car.
Even this old car guy learns a few things from your video's. Btw, when I enter a VIN on Google all I get are companies wanting to sell reports, how do I get the results you show on this video?
Hello, ive a A3 8V that had minor rear impact with only the plastic bumper bracket support damaged.
Airbag light went on and the safety system fault….. stability/tpms/hill assist/fuel gauge – wont start
From watching your videos and before i get the fault codes read possible to assume a seat belt needs replacing and the airbag ecu to be reset?
Where is the airbag unit and how can it be removed?
Seatbelt to be removed – any further guidance would be helpful
Also, saying i got seatbelts repaired and ecu reset would it then be possible to refit and start the car and all would work?
Sam do you have a contact at erepairables.com I called, emailed and sent fb message and nothing.
This was the first video to discuss dealer pricing vs specialty shops. Thoroughly enjoyed it ðŸ¤â€â€.

Starting my 2015 S3 rebuild this week from Copart! Did you have to remove the entire center console to get the SRS module out?
How do you reset the SRS via VCDS? I know that there is a way. I just do not know it…. I have asked all around and NO Answers.
Do u have a video how u replaced the seat airbag?
Great information! Thanks for sharing your research.
Awsome tips and how to video thank you.. Jay
1800$ is not alot, if u compare the risks of buying a car on auchtion… But make no mistake! I love ur content.
I think there is a reason why the ECU locks and should be replaced and not only be unlocked.
Even if its obvious please give us a heads up when a video is sponsored. It seems more professional and less like you're trying to make money off of a quick add. I would use them but i dont like the way you set up the ad!
Love these tips
Great video fantastic loads of information.
4:21 AHHHH GREEN SAM!
I saw your audi. Very good car. I saw that airbags blown so what do you need to repair SRS system ? Sure airbag module, airbags, sest belt tensioner and anything else ?

My airbag… You mean my insurance?
Great video’s and information Sam. Keep it up.
Jesus that's beautiful !
The "long rod" part of the seat belt assembly is the belt pre tensioner. It partially retracts the belt to "pre tension" it against the occupant to reduce forward movement during the rapid deceleration of the vehicle during the crash, the other sections (like in the rear) then lock the belts to prevent further movement from a possible secondary impact or roll over etc.
A car with deployed airbags should be left in the junkyard where it should be.
About that Steel wire that's attached to the seat belt. I might be wrong, but I think it's a piece of Audi's procon-ten system. It's a great system and it works perfectly. I have the same system on my 1991 Audi 80 2.3E quattro.
Ps: I think they call ut Audi 4000 or 5000 in the US.
