I bought this clean title, nice condition, Supercharged Audi S4 and got a great deal at auction because of a transmission issue. I figured it would be easy, but it seems the DSG in these cars are a little more finicky then you might think, and we get a little surprise when we drop the fluid…

Take your best guess as to where the key was hiding 👇
I have a B8.5 S5 and my car is pretty reliable. Just a few suspension issues. But other than that, it’s a great car. I just hit 58k and it’s a 2014
Do Audi's come in colours, or just silver and grey like seven out of ten cars on the road today?
Needs new Mechatronic. AUD$3100 in Australia
Probably mech unit same happen to my s4 just replaced it and now no problems
Just to add…..there's apparently a software update that may help.
When a audi of this generation starts to have transmission problems, dealer wont even try to repair them. They want to replace the whole transmission for over 10000€. Do not buy automatic transmission audis.
There are kits online that come with 3 solenoids for this fix. Just worry about the clutch being worn, that’s all.
If you want to know which gear you're in, switch over to manual mode. It does show when you're in D or S.
Muffler delete, plasti dip…a kid had it before SMDH. Please get this car right bro…
Very good buy 👌 👠ðŸ‘ÂÂ
Is there a specific reason you haven’t bought a lift?
Cmon Sam invest in a garage car lift..you work on 2 many cars to be using ramps
Is Sage the new Cam?
Is anything you start ever get finished!
flakes normal, yes tranny drain and fill, (don't flush), I'm sure an audi subscriber will help you figure out what exactly is going on and cheaply.
All you can do is try good job
Sammy Sam! Get OBDELEVEN for Audi.
1:00 "Audi… is decently reliable." This is delusional thinking. Audis are notorious for being unreliable and expensive maintenance nightmares of no escape. They… are terrible after a few years age, and they curse their latter owners with crippling repair costs.
The ricer exhaust drone is terrible
You need to put some gas in that thing before it runs out. Good deal just the same!
Sounds like a shift solenoid is bad to me.
Also is that an awe touring exhaust? The exhaust note sounds so familiar
I have a 2016 Audi A6 with the same engine but a ZF8 speed auto have the car for 1.5 years and I’ve been dealing with a trans issue sluggish slow shifts and a slip in 1 and 2nd gear for the past 8-10 months. 5-6 visits to 2 Audi dealerships and they call it “normal†Bc there’s no codes /: love the car but the trans really ruins the driving experience completely and I have no idea how to fix it
Love an s4 – flush and circuit board for DSG would hopefully do it as mechatronic issue common but wet clutch transmission usually more robust than early dry DSG – what a nice car find 🙂 well done Sam ðŸ‘ÂÂ
I’m going to disagree with the experts here. I have done many 40K mile service in VW DSG gearboxes on my cars and the fluid from the first change to as high as 160,000 miles comes out clear with no metal flakes.
I’m going with the trans has never been serviced and is shot.
Good luck. Will watch the videos to see how it turns out.
Faulty mechatronic unit, our old b8 s4 went through 2 different mech units before we got a good one. They ended up changing to a different fluid because the original mineral fluid from audi degraded the electronics on the mech board
hey what auction was this from?
#samcrac put fresh clutches in the trans while doing the circuit boards
100% mechatronic unit😄
I would try circuit board if that doesn't fix it since it's an updated board put it on the new or junkyard trans you still can get use out of it
Blem = blemished, I assume?
Fingers crossed
dang ur like goon squad cleaning the car asap then worrying about fixing it
Someone drove the fuck out of that piece of shit
Anyone use Carly on Porsche? If so how is it?
This episode felt about 10 minutes too long. Must have been Sam trying to find that key.
so where was the key at?
I'm thinking a shift solenoid failure. Fords use 2 and when one goes out it has the same issues.
Please pressure wash the wheels back to silver. All black wheels look shit, way to many people have them black.
Nice Looking Car Sam This will be Best Project For Manual Swap 👌
