I Bought the very rare Audi TT based off the R32 Golf at the junk auction sale. Someone drove this thing until it started falling apart in the engine bay. Hopefully we caught it quick enough and bought it cheap enough to save it and make it better than it was from the factory!

  1. To sort the handling on the old mk1 tt's fit the rear springs, and anti-roll bar (sway bar for US readers) from a same generation Audi S3. At least this works with European spec cars. Not sure if the S3 was sold in the US.

Or fit the Suspension from the TT Sport, again not certain if they were sold in the US, 1.8t raised to 240Bhp removed rear seats, same bodykit as the V6, Black roof (two tone) and special wheels

1.8t mods really well as long as it's the BAM engine with the upgraded turbo they'll remap to about 280-300bhp on stock internals.

  2. I notice you often buy European cars. Here in the UK we dont have many US built cars and the reputation has generally been a negative one. They're not known for being well built and the handling often poor. Tesla being the main exction over here. Are there any models you would recommend that are available here?

  3. Im struggling to buy a decent car at the moment due to just coming back from a one year ban and my options are very much limited due to insurance costs. It always looked great as it was so different from everything else that was out there for the price bracket. London, uk

  4. The later models are a vast improvement and far less of a female hairdressers car as the original was. I would go for a Golf tbf just for the extra room in the back.

  5. My dad used to own both a 94 Prelude Si and then a 97 Prelude SH. I thought they were the coolest cars ever. In fact, the 97 prelude took my VTEC virginity. I'll never forget. The first time in the car by myself. Got out of the neighborhood onto the country road, and let her rip. Oh it was glorious. I promptly purchased an Integra GSR. (The comment about his dad owning the TT reminded me of my experiences)

  6. The TT became boring when some people who had never driven a fast car before, drove them and crashed. Because of that, Audi added weight to the rear, a spoiler and ESP and TC to make them worse "but safer"…

  7. You said the first audio was 180 hp. Then said the next gen was only 25 more putting it @ 259 hp what’s up ?

  8. You are actually pretty lucky that the TT was in the condition that it's in. I bought mine 2 years ago for $300 and so far I had to practically rebuild the entire thing and it hasn't been driven a single mile under my ownership. But lucky for me the end is near!

  9. R170 SLK and first gen Audi TT are perfect examples of how great looking "sportscars" from respected car makers are crippled by their platforms. For Merc I can almost understand why they made the SLK drive dynamically boring (Mercedes being the equivalent of luxury at the time as a brand), but when Audi first released the TT , Audi people claimed that they wanted to honor the NSU TT a small sports car from the '60s and 70s (hence giving the name TT) that performed great on the road and the track. I think it mislead a lot of first owners that bought this car thinking that besides decent straight line performance (at least for the 225) that the car would perform dynamically in the same way a Porsche Boxster of the same era would perform!

  10. Interesting to see this in Europe. Nobody wants a Corvette C5 here, the ones available are super cheap. And TT 3.2 is not the most popular model, most people choose 1.8T 225hp which is lighter, cheap to tune AND manual 👍

  11. Let’s get a BMW Z4 Up in here! 2006-2013. I know one gen is much longer and different then the other but it’s a curiosity point.
