  1. I bought an aftermarket starter for my toyota, it's in the mail.

Amazon and reviews said it will fit but it is a lot bigger. Will it fit? anyone ever have this experience?

  2. This video saved me a ton of time. Great tip about connecting wires after install. I tried to install a starter on my 1999 Silverado hooking up the wires before mounting it. The wires kept it from going in properly. After disconnecting the wires I was able to mount in in jest a few minutes. I had a perfect view of the solenoid connectors from the wheel well. I was able to connect the wires without a problem. I also removed the oil dipstick for more room.——-Thanks again for the great video….

  3. Thanks Eric, I need to do this job in this weekend because my truck was dead in a parking lot of company I work for.

  4. Have A Comment & Question, I am 70 yrs Young < i have a 1999 Chevy 2500 Series Pickup, (not silverado ,Or any name ) just 2500 W/ 350 vortek engine <
my Question is , DOES The starter mount to the Block Or To the bell housing??
I have been told it was to bell housing I Think it is the block! the issue is the wing the outter bolt fastens to has been Broken off , so i was told just get bell housing,
the Previous owner used all thread on this outside bolt & stripped the inner hole closest to oil pan < I have never heard of Starter mounting to bell housing
so am I wrong Or Right < I Know i may never get answer but worth a try ,

  5. Eric? i used DB for my alternator replacement. i have taken the link to their website. i see they have a 1 year warranty. have you had good results from their parts?. sure priced a lot better than the local auto parts store. i may order the starter for my ranger . thanks

  6. what about the crankshaft position sensor? I just replaced my starter on my 00 s10 and I've had it kickback on one starter (remanufactured) which lasted two days and now I got a new starter to replace it but the truck still kicks every now and then.

  7. AWESOME VIDEO MAN! I OWN A 98 CHEVY TAHOE and I'm starting to have problems starting it. I figure, the starter must need to be replace. I HAVE NEVER DONE IT SINCE I PURCHASE IT IN 2001. She's a beauty. <3 It's my favorite vehicle from the others I have. She's been my rock… and never let me down. I DON'T WANT TO CURSE MYSELF, BUT I SHOULD BE GRATEFUL TO THE OTHERS TOO. King Ranch F-150, a MarkLT and my C320 wagon. They all are "useful" at the proper timing. THANKS ERIC! I'M PLANNING TO DO THIS JOB MYSELF. I WORK AT HARBOR FREIGHT TOOLS. I GOT THIS! Wish me luck!

  11. This is perfect for me because the starter on my '96 Chevy Tahoe just died (No crank, battery has plenty of juice), so now I know exactly what to do. Thanks so much!

  12. Great video. My 2000 starter died in a parking lot yesterday. I watched the video, bought a starter, crawled under the jeep and an hour later started the thing up. All the bolts on my Jeep were 15mm. Thanks a ton!

  13. Thanks, I am having problems with removing the wires. That is why I check for this video. I found your video to be the most helpful.
    Thanks for the help!
It is now after 8pm. Gotta git 'er done for tommorow work day.

  14. I've had an issue with my starter a couple of years back. I'm from Hungary so the currency is different. But a new starters price was like ~100 000HUF. And we've found out that we had two wornout sleeve bearings in the starter, and a third one missing. The symptom was slow crankin'. So it worked, but my mechanic has said, that he wanted to take a look at it. So he changed the bearings, and it works fine since then. (6 years). And the repair cost? 900HUF. Now that is something! Cheers!

  15. Hey Eric! Haven't you noticed the coolant leak just above the starter? (it begins from the freese plug) Wouldn't that be the one that caused the previous starter to break?

  16. Hi eric, i have a blow fuse issue could a bad solenoid or bad shimmed starter cause this, ive already tested all wireing thank you, its a motorcycle

  17. eric about a week after seeing this video my starter failed. but its okay i was confident enough to change it myself. i just watched your video on the Tahoe that had a misfire in cyl 6. uhoh
