The funny thing I put that on my honda pilot but they cut end exhaust muffler.
Just installed the 3rd catalytic converter on my son's CRV. The first two were Walker's bought from Amazon and failed after a few months. Was told by my mechanic that the quality of the ones sold online is crap compared to the ones being sold by brick-and-mortar stores. Now I'm afraid the one that's currently on his car will be stolen. CRV's are almost the same as Honda Elements except for the body style. Plenty of ground clearance for thieves to get at your cat and cut it off quickly.
I have a much simpler, more elegant solution: straight pipe
Considering the cost of the kit, how much people will have to pay for labor on top of hardware, the chances of your catalytic converter being stolen, and the fact that most insurance will cover this theft, THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE WASTE OF MONEY if it costs you any more than a $50!

My grandfather was a mechanic, and back in 2009. He went to visit Texas for a week, while he was gone someone stole the cats off a dozen vehicles.
I save them the time and replace with a test pipe😂

A cat that rusty with the heat shield held on with a clamp you are asking for trouble. The muffler shop is going to be cussing you soon.
The 1992-1995 Civic VX and the 1996-2000 Civic HX were equipped with lean burn (at least outside of California) and require expensive wideband sensors. Everyone that replaced one said that you need the OEM NGKNTK sensors or it won't work. The cheapest one that I can find is $200.
After the catalytic converter was stolen from my 2005 Honda Element, I decided to so some research on where these stolen catalytic converters end up. I learned some interesting things.
I just deleted mine and installed a straight pipe.

I say, wire it to your 220 survive and have a silent alarm. When it alerts you, throw the switch from inside house. A two second blast should send them running! Heck, they might leave their Sawzall behind!

Can't they just extend the opening on the cat security system with a Sawzall in a minute or two and then just cut off the cat?
Hilarious I came to this video because the catalytic converter on my 2005 Honda element was just stolen a few minutes ago and you're using an element for the demo, must be a popular car to steal from then eh?
Shame we have to do all this work to protect our stuff. The auto manufacturers could add something like this but it would cost a grand!

sadly, with proper blade, the same saw will cut that shield in half just as fast as the exhaust tubing itself 🙂
