In this video I walk you through the steps of replacing struts on a 1998 Chrysler Town and Country. The operation is fairly typical when replacing struts. I cover some of the issues you might run into, as well as some things you might want to avoid when installing struts on your vehicle.
Monroe also recommends replacing other suspension components like ball joints and control arm bushings when you replace your struts to avoid issues with noise or loss of vehicle control.
Be sure to check out these other videos from Monroe on inspecting your suspension and struts.

Mine don't say L or R….
Eric, try holding the inner torx/allen bolt still and turning the wrench that's connected to the nut. That works.
2:40 yes, you were not!
monroe struts vs lexus Rx300 oem?
what do you do if the top 3 bolts will not line up properly? Is there a way to adjust the top plate its about 1/4 turn off?
Why not cover the + battery terminal with a thick cloth ? It's not a trick question…
I am working on 2002 Siena van the top nucle is not going in the bottom one is in the nut is installed what do think have I have done wrong
A Magnetic Induction Heater made all the difference in the world for me. I have snapped bolts with these impact guns. I am just a home mechanic fixing my own vehicles. The heater cost about $250, but it paid for itself the first time. I had several rusty bolts that wouldn't come lose with penetrating oils and impact guns. After 20 seconds with the heater the nut came right off. It almost feels magical. Suspension parts are the worst.
My sway bar links torque bit spot didt strip, they were in really good shape despite the rust. The problem i had was the bit breaking off inside the totque bit hole…mmmm
Manufacturers recommend replacing the mounting bolts.
"Driver's side, in the US, is LEFT btw"…. THANK YOU
Thanks Eric for this video another good to learn as a DIY!
I saved $250 installing the quick struts on my 03 Buick Century. The shop that quoted me the installation, their rate was $85 an hour.
Great tech video, good job.
Thanks man!!!
I was really hoping Eric would say he doesn't give a crap about torque spec'ing the strut nuts… that gives me some piece of mind.
Hello Eric, I have a question. If the axle joint comes apart, does it mean that the joint is bad? I had one come apart on me, I was able after a while to put it back in, but I'm not sure if I created an issue.
After market shocks are CRAP cuz they want you back to replace them many times!
My Jeep has 125k…and I don't feel any difference from new? Doesn't bounce or leaks.
Dante’s Inferno?
Love your classical reference!
Don’t even want to attempt this just because of that sway bar end link wow
Pre spraying all your nuts and bolts the night before your project " if possible " will save you time and headaches.
The impact wrench makes me feel like im the one working.
I replaced my rear 2 struts and now the car is MORE rougher/harsher than before. WHY?
Nicely detailed explanation; double like!
Helpful throughout the years, thank you sir!!
