The 6.1-liter Hemi was made from 2006 – 2011 and was made available in several Mopar products. You could find it in anything from a Charger to a Grand Cherokee to the Chrysler 300. But getting your hands on one can be difficult because of their high popularity and low availability. But Powertrain Products now offers remanufactured 6.1’s for purchase.

These engines are popular for several reasons. The main one being that even in stock form, it makes 425 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque which has made them a prime option for engine swaps. It’s proven to be both powerful and reliable. And being a later model engine it has a lot of advantages such as the great power and reliability all on pump gas. It retains the hemispherical combustion chambers that made the elephant engines back in the day so highly regarded. This engine has 25% more horsepower than the 5.7 liter due to more cubic inches, increased compression ratio, and re-designed cylinder heads.

Powertrain Products offers a 4-year warranty or you can opt-in for a 5-year no-fault warranty. The engine features coated hypereutectic pistons that prevent wear and improve cylinder life, upgraded valve seats and guides, multi-layer steel head gaskets, an improved oil pump for better volume and pressure, and upgraded valve seals along with upgraded timing components. So if you’re looking to swap a late-model engine in your vehicle, head to https://www.Powertrainproducts.net.

  1. You should do one on how to SCREW UP your 6.1l rebuild as I did by simply forgetting to prime the engine before first start! 3k miles and now I have a slight rod knock! Pisses me off!!!

  2. I have a 1995 square body Dodge Dakota, with all of it's original drive train ,I want a hemi in my dodge Dakota as well, I want a new powertrain for my 4×4 extended cab Dakota, I need a price on a crate motor hemi, you know any one who is figuring out how to modify their trucks n cars, there's always a way to find a way to get it done, wayneeden95@gmail.com

  3. 2010 is the last year for the 6.1, and was replaced with the 392s in '11 FYI bud. Yep it was only made for 3 years, and is a darn good engine. Is what motor my Challenger has got, and is also a 2010. I like the 6.1s because it's more simple and handle boost better than the 6.4 if you ever decide to supercharge it. I've also got a diablo for it and run torco race fuel, which is manufactured in Apache Junction AZ not far from us

  4. 6.1 Hemi Is The best Resto Mod Hemi Of The 3rd Gen. Holds More Boost then other Hemis Stock. Great Compression ratio. Amazing intake manifold. No MDS (Thank God). Run these Bad Boys against a 392 off a Roll They Peform Better then the Numbers say (Dig a different Story 8speed) … the 6.1 hemi is a great Platform for Building and amazing even in stock form. BEST Modern N/A Hemi !
