2. I just took my 92 k1500 nozzle out (passenger side not spraying) and cleaned it. I wasn’t able to get the dirt out with a pin. So I took it out and got it clean and tested it. Worked great so I put it together, tested it again and again, so I put it all back together. Hop in to test it and nothing.. at this point I’m just going to replace the reservoir, pump, lines, nozzle, arms (somehow bent and it uses some old pin system for the blades?) and potentially the switch on steering since that stops working randomly too lol.

   (yes i am…. there is fluid in the reserve,,, i changed the pump CHECKED FUSES(all good) and can hear the motor loud and clear, but it wont come out…i followed the lines from the pump to the windshield and they look bone dry as if the fluid never even ATTEMPTED to come out? the lines dont appear to be clogged (well the clear tubed ones that i can see through) , i even removed the jets then tried and still NOTHING!! what do i DO!!! im beyond pissed

9. In my 98 GMC 1500 Savana Van, I am getting only 2.0v at the washer pump connector. Why is there such a low voltage when the washer pump is activated ?

21. I have a 1999 ford explorer. My wiper fluid stopped working. Hoses good, motor good . I'm thinking fuse or relay BUT DON'T KNOW WHICH ONE IT IS. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP.

    I'd like to add, in Northern Michigan, some of us add a third to a half bottle of rubbing alcohol (yup, .99 cents at any store in the health and beauty aisles) to the washer fluid. Won't hurt the rubber, keeps it from freezing and adds a little de-ice to it as well.

29. Nice video. My 1994 VOLVO 850 has following problem: washer pisses well for first 5 seconds than – just hardly spits. Leave it standing for 10minutes and pressure builds up. What is second hose for on washer motor?

34. Did a similar job on my 01 tahoe.. Real PITA to get to.. The bottle is right under the battery.. Thought I had a hole in the bottle.. Nope.. Turns out one of the motors was broken and letting fluid out.. And both lines for the fluid were cracked and had holes.. Front one just disintegrated in my hands.. Part stor wanted $20 for a direct replacement part.. I used hose similar to what you just used for like $7.. And I didn't have to wait for it to be shipped..

39. Hey Eric, nice video. I have the following problem: the front washers don't work but the rear one works, so I was wondering if they use the same pump or different. Because if they use same I will know its clogged/leaking

41. Friend of mine drove his car without washer fluid and when he operate his washer the pump sucked air and died. How that didn't happend to Eric ?

42. Thanks for the Vid Eric,  A tip I use is when removing tube etc I tie string to the end and then when It comes out you can tie it to new hose or whatever and pull back through the same route. Depending on how tight the route is I either push a hole straight through the hose about 1/4" from the end and push string through the hose and tie it tight, I have also made different sizes of metal tube to fit different diameter hose with a hole as with the tube to put string through , I actually prefer using good strong electric cable Say you have a 3 core cable just pull one out. eg like from a power cable.  Regards Phil    (I recently joined your site Eric, nice info there)

43. Just ran across this vid, great troubleshooting steps! Thought I would throw out another potential thing to check for if all else fails. On many washer fluid reservoirs there is a small vent hole either on the cap or somewhere around the top of the tank. This prevents a vacuum from being created in the tank as the pump drains the fluid. One time for me, that vent somehow became clogged and when I would run the washers I would get a shot of fluid at first and it would taper off to a trickle as the pump fought the vacuum. I poked a small awl through the vent to clear it and problem solved.
