I suppose this has been a long time coming but for me I wanted to make sure that I made a video that would be useful to you as well as emphasized the importance of good practices when working with AC. Keep in mind refrigerant is a CFC meaning that it pretty much kills the ozone layer and if you don’t respect that you WILL cause environmental damage even a little adds up so please follow the precautions in this video when working on an AC system. The other thing about AC is that it involves a lot more than just shooting a can of refrigerant into the system when it’s not working right there are many systems that come into play that you need to consider such as; the health of the cooling system, cooling fan operation, the mechanical operation of the components of the system, the operation of the HVAC inside the dash, and the electronics so keep in mind if you’re having a problem with your AC it could be much more than just a simple leak. I’ll get off my soap box now.

If you have pressure but a small leak you can skip about all this and just use an electronic sniffer tool
How do you fix the valve leaking when I put in the air conditioning
Nice leak finder
Great video, and great points and tips.
GREAT VIDEO LOVE WATCHING ALL YOUR VIDEOS WHY NOT ADD SHOP AIR TO THE SYSTEM SINCE YOU ARE ALREADY REPLACING THE DRIER. SHOP AIR AND SOAPY WATER YOU WOULD FIND ANY LEAK.
It's not good practice to leave your gauges on after you evacuate the system. You should evacuate for a minimum of an hour and then close off your valves at the inlets and remove the hoses. The leak you see could be in your gauge set or hoses. You should reconnect the hoses and check after some period of time, say 1/2 hour and read your vacuum to see if its held.
Good video !
Awesome video
The thing with your vedeos they talk to much bull shit come get onwith the shit.
Who knew that the PacMan video game sound track came from an AC Sniffer machine. Great vid!
Great video. Thank you. Merry Christmas.
To fill the tubing, aluminum brazing works very well -please see attached: https://youtu.be/9hLBAUKqP4M
Unfortunately pulling a vacuum and watching for a loss of vacuum does not always show a leak, because the leak maybe only on pressure as is in my case. I pulled a vacuum fore one hour and let it sit for two hours and charged the system and two weeks later no AC. This is after a new evaporator coil, dryer, and a pressure switch.
you are amazing erick the car guy
That was a decent video, thanks ðŸ‘ÂÂ
Thanks mate, this was a very good information.
Holy shit he's so young in this video
I could tell you had a leak when you closed the valves at 9:35, because the pump changed it's tone. If you have a perfectly sealed system the pump won't know if the valves are open or closed.
Thank you.
That was enough dye for 15 vehicles bro lol!
Since this video is over 8 years, old, you may have been corrected about R-134a's detrimental environmental effects, in case you haven't, I went to wikipedia to confirm what I knew, and that is HFC's do not harm the Ozone layer, that said HFC's are a green house gas and may promote global warming
? Instead of charging the system with the refrigerant would it be appropriate to charge the system with air and use soapy water and look for bubbles. since it will need to go into a vacuum again before you charge it again?
I never see any of you guys that do these AC videos purge the air out of your hoses. You are pushing the air inside the hoses into the system !!!
Those Harbor Freight gages are notorious for leaking..
Don’t give up your day job
Hmmmm…. so how did R12 put a hole in the ozone layer if freon is heavier than air?
Good information, much appreciated. Do yourself a favor and get a good USA made set of gauges. You can get a good set of yellowjacket gauges for a little over a hundred dollars on amazon.
Thanks! You helped a woman 😂
Thank you Mr Crisfield for the info

Does this sound like a AC leak or its something else ?
I’m sure this guy is a meth head
Question do vacuum pumps work with all refrigerants like r1234yf or do you need a specific pump for it ?
Sometimes the leak only leaks under pressure. I think vacuum sucks everything tight so it holds. I've had that happen.
The leak detector from harbor freight was a great investment for me. Found tiny leaks and found the evaporator leak in my kid's car. Verified after getting underneath and there was dye in the drain tube.
Excellent sir! Thank you!
I learned a lot from watching your video it was excellent
Hello Eric what is the pressure on low ad high side freight line 06 it's truck with a c7 cat.
You didn't add any oil?
Using Dawn dish soap and water with a high amount of the dish soap and putting a small amount of refrigerant works if the soap and water is over the leak it should start blowing bubbles.
How do you keep the vacuum pump oil from backstreaming into the AC system?
