Mike and Pat are joined by 3-time NHRA Pro-Stock Champion, Jason Line, to go over everything from pistons and cylinder heads to high end lubes and how the industry standards have been reset by racing innovation and development.

Pistons have come a long way over the last decade or two. There is much better machining equipment available today which allows manufacturers to produce a better finish and overall more power. This applies not only to race engines but street engines as well.

The design has changed over the years as well. Pistons are no longer the old coffee-can style but have been modified and altered to be stronger and have weight displacement where needed. Piston ring size and shape have changed along with that.
