on any build, a great way to mark the feet of a cage before hole sawing the floorboard is to spray paint around the tube. It makes a perfect mark without messing up a sharpie!
holy smokes, what's with the hate on the d series? it may be suck but hating it gotta be some personal issues.
You should do a Honda CRX or Mazda Rx-7 Rebuild 😀 Bonus points if you throw in a turbski. especially a turbski on a rotary.
Maybe I wasn't paying attention why did you have to drill the hole through the floor? Did you go underneath and weld around the hole to the plate? Seems like you could have just welded the plate without the holes.
I hope you have a Civic wagon AWD transmission and rear diff to swap into it.
Man y’all really tryna sell me that pressure washer. I swear the past 3 episodes y’all were advertising it lol
Those wheel hubs look better than my 95 SHO with 78,000 miles🤣
That wood probably cost more than truck sized jackstands.
"A little superficial damage, but nothing crazy"
–not a line you want to hear from the dealership
Did you actually look at the rule book for the series you want to race in? Your cage isn't even close to being in compliance in either ARA or NASA, meaning you won't be able to get a logbook. This means you won't get to enter a real stage rally with the car without significant cage modification. All this means you are stuck in rally cross, where the cage is just unnecessary weight. The next point is that adding a turbo puts you in Open2WD, where you are competing with pro built Fiesta R2's and BRZ's. All your work will be to race for not last. It's still fun, but gets old after a while. The take away here is to READ THE RULE BOOK before you start your build. Cut out the cage, gut the car to make it as light as possible, and thrash it in Modified Front in rally cross. The car will be pretty competitive and you'll have lots of fun.
what i like about powernation they always power wash there build
These guys need lessons from boostedboys!!
Add a ecu pop tune
This is awfully similar to a hoonigan episode of build and battle. Haha
What i didn't like was Jimmy's lack of PPE while welding. Smh
I can see the future. This ek hatch will be k swapped.. Maybe not on this channel and maybe not soon but it will. Mark my words
You should just drop a si motor in it.
Be sure to have plenty of ventilation when working with dry ice!
Put a y8 head or z6 on that y7 love the d series favorite platform glad you're keeping the single jingle they don't get enough love 💪
This is the absolute funniest thing I’ve ever seen a bunch of good old boys playing with things they don’t get priceless. Just remember you don’t put backer juice in the oil.
The all motor k24 swap would have made more power than a turbo d series. and more reliable. But I still enjoy the video. 👍👍👍👍👍
just curious what type of mig and tig welders you use.
The suspension needs tuning. Also Id super charge the unit
Rather see a Cavalier Z24 Rally
Really wish they'd at least do a vitara build and send it
Awsome
Welding ppe at least sleeves and gloves are not present just tacks but still
Loved and still miss my little boosted D
Boosting a d16 y7 ? It's gonna go really well until it doesn't. Can't wait until we see what parts will be thrown at it.
Everyone is all "swap this, swap that" just do whatever ya'll want. Just know there is a TON of Honda swaps that have full support, from H series, B series, K series, J series, and even enhance D series. Hasport/VTEC Academy is a great place to check what can go where and maybe how to find it. Enjoy!
Wow that guy is a magician. When he lowers the roll cage to finish welding it lol
Why dont you put h beams and pistons in the block, then swap a d16y8 vtec head ?
Why would you not just k swap it get 220 tuned on everything stock, want to ebay turbo it then 550 600 hp can be achieved without worry
I know it wasn't a thing back then, but I'd K swap it, and boost it on an E85 tune.
if they make more cars of this type they will get more views, because they are cars sold worldwide not only in the US
Just do a K swap and then boost it. Way better
Should have bent some plates 90° to put under the cage so you can weld to the thicker inner rocker panels cause flat plates on those thin floorboards ain't enough if you roll that thing at 90+ mph
Can't wait to see them do some more jdm cars on here
Really should replace that engine with a modern Honda motor from a scrap yard. You get so many benefits over the 90s tech.
Should of k swapped it and awd it would of been a better show like a real rally car
Welding without sleeves, and not using post flow=AMATEUR!
Been waiting for this
These guys don't mind washing grease and oil into the environment!
