I found what was causing all the electrical issues in my cheap auction Lemon Buyback Twin Turbo Repo (No Joke It really has all those things going for it) BMW X6m. But as we fix one issue quite a few crop up….

You did what professionals couldn't or wouldn't do. Super rewarding watch, all cars with drains on them have ended up clogged in my experience, never seen this though.
Hey guys. The new batteries… if you jump start them from battery terminal and connect positive first you can fry the electric boards. I blew a FEM module and car would not start. Be careful when using power packs to start.
Kudos on figuring that out so quickly!
for you to know all the sponsors to this channel,i skip all the sections when the channel owner speaks about the product that who sponsor to this channel.
I had this on a Skoda, only solved by cutting the drains end on the door shuts and then blasting the windshield wiper scuttle area with a jet wash and consistently hoovering up water and eventually everything emptied and it all dried out over the next month.
Think the advice you where given was to technical maybe to encourage using the expert haha I would have done exactly what you did follow the codes well done sam love it when a difficult problem is sorted
John
Sam, You are the dumbest yet smartest car guy i have ever seen
What's with the wheels, they're not std x6m alloys, suspension looks collapsed at the rear too ( unless it's been intentionally lowered)
Just searching for Rich's comment…
Hey Sam. Your videos are so much interesting to watch. As an ECU designer from Bosch, this takes me back to my field failure investigation sessions. About the seat control module that went bad due to water intrusion, you may be able to revive it. Try to warm the circuit board with a hair drier and then clean up the board using some isopropyl alcohol. Dry again and put it back. If the seat control functions were working fine from the beginning, it means that the module wasn't fully affected by water. Waiting for your next video on this BMW.
This is the problem with CANBUS. It's great when it's all working properly but it doesn't take much for a faulty module to corrupt the CANBUS data bus and make other modules data become garbled. It's fine if a module fails completely but a module that's not entirely dead, like this seat module, will cause a massive headache.
You can see why even a dealer wouldn't bother with it due to the time, and hence money, it would take for a technician to troubleshoot all the modules in the vehicle.
That’s worse than a Jeep Cherokee I had. Water was always getting in the footwells. I finally tore out all the insulation and drilled some holes through the floor.
Man I had soo much water in my Mini Cooper due to the door frame rubber and the windshield. BMW are like boats
People ‘dislike’ because you’re an annoying dick head
I use a bicycle brake cable inner wire to clean out blocked sunroof drains. It is stiff enough to feed down and flexible enough to go round corners.
Hideous design from BMW.
Brandons, Soyboys, Beta males and Cuckboys don't like Alpha male videos.
Nice to see you found the issue…however before you go off at a tangent on this BMW …can we see the Aston. Did it get fixed ?
Well sam i can tell you at this moment you got 810 dislikes cuz here in the Netherlands we can still see it 🙂
This has me excited, i need to see what comes next
I shall no longer like videos since YouTube is now owned by China so I can’t even properly dilslike a video. They should get rid of the like button to then.
Sam great find . Finding a electrical problem can be a bitch
fun fact i can still see the dislike counter
I can still see the likes and dislike number, when's it supposed to be removed?
That was some out of box thinking.
Hahhahaha
That’s crazy that a BMW mechanic failed to notice this – glad you found the problem and it was so obvious.
To many Karen’s in the world now!
Solution get A lexus
bmw swimming pool… this is a real small thing getting Big
Nice job! The drains are behind the fenders. Remove them to unclog the drain properly. ðŸ‘ÂÂðŸÂ¼
able to hit the dislike button and the counter still moves up a tick when doing it …..
wait, i still see the dislike number (at the moment 779 dislikes, with 9.8k likes).
I can still see 800 dislikes atm
Have you tried blowing air in the opposite direction.
Ive always just used weed eater line to clear my sunroof drains.. Never had a problem..
You need a length of BOWDEN Cable outer cover (the outer tube that goes round pedal bike brake cables) to rod that blockage out on the sunroof drain and rod it out from below back up over so from behind the wheel arch liner fender area
In US it's gone. In Poland we still have dislike button 😀
Nah Sam, I love you. It's always the like button for you.
Video starts at the 8 minute mark. Yep thats half way through the video. Literally 50% advertising. Nice one!
On the 6 series I had, the scuttle panel/cabin air inlet was also known to block up – not sure if the same on the x6. Good luck Sam.
The luxurious foot massage
Oh god! So much water! Well nothing you can't fix! Good luck on this one Sam!
Am i the only one that can still see the dislike button and the amount of dislikes lol
I can't believe BMW techs couldn't figure this out themselves? They must be literally hiring chimps from the local zoo. Reminds me of a footwell leak I once had in a Renault. Car had super weird electrical gremlins, like the indicators randomly flashing while the car was parked and not running. Took up the carpet and there was like a half-inch of water with cables and connectors lying in it. Turned out blocked windscreen scuttle drains were allowing water to pool and leak into the cabin.
This video is one big Carly commercial, wtf…
I don't know if my YouTube is broken or what, but I still have a number under dislike…
One way to clear it is to find out where the drainage pipe comes out, then using a long peice of wire about 2/3rd of the diameter of the pipe, with an angle cut on the end, pass it up pipe until you get to the obtruction. Then push and twist the wire, should clear the blockage, almost certainly just a build up of gunk. Don't be tempted to push from the top, this could just impact the blockage even more. Good luck and great spot.
This shows that a home diy-er is way smarter in finding the problem than any dealer mechanic/technician.
