The guys at Hennessey Performance never quit when it comes to hot-rodding the newest muscle cars. They’ve tuned everything from Hellcats to ZL1a and found their absolute limits. Now they’ve gotten their hands on a Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 R.
From the factory, the GT350 makes 526 horsepower and 429 lb.-ft. of torque from a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter flat-plane crank V8. But that wasn’t enough for the Hennessey team because they threw a supercharger on it. They put the forced-induction GT350 R on the dyno to see just how much power it could make, and managed to crank out an impressive 787 horsepower to the wheels. When you factor in an industry-accepted 15% drivetrain loss that adds up to roughly 905 horsepower at the crank. That’s on the same level of McLaren P1 power.
