In this installment of the #ETCGDadsTruck series, I prep and paint the frame and also install new bushings in the control arms.

I sure wish my supervisor would allowed me to go get a mask while spray painting.
In the middle of one of these now.
PLEASE:
Tell me that THIS front end assembly is close enough to the 1995 Chevy C2500 Suburban (7.4L, 454) front end that I can use these videos to rebuild my front suspension? I was just going to order complete Upper and Lower control arm assemblies and forgo the bushing/ball joint replacements. I also have a complete caliper + rotor upgrade for the truck.
Are partswarehouse reliable parts? How has the suspension been?
I wonder if there is a hole saw drill bit the would work well drilling this out!! There either do a quick burn off of the remainder or scraping the rest out with a very sharp knife!!
You’re pretty funny even when frustrated. Quite a remarkable amount of experience being called upon to git er done.
I get the idea of wanting new bushings, tie rods and such. But why not just by new upper and lower control arms and tie rod connectors to save a ton of time and effort! I mean how much is your time worth? If the goal is to educate people on how to remove and replace the bushings, tie rods, ball joints, etc, mission complete! It taught me that it is well worth the money to buy the new arms, which include bushings and ball joints and the tie rod connectors! Great video though.
is it just me or does this guy sound like mike rowe… he's even "getting dirty"
Is what it is.
ETG you need a sandblasting cabinet…
you can drill the rubbers to release the pressure, much less work
Good fight started 30:12, ended 32:32
Wire wheel on a drill man, I ain’t got time for all that scrubbing! Lol love your vids! Just found them this week because my dad and I are rebuilding the engine in my 98 and started watching this series then watch the whole Fairmont, and now watching this series in full.
40 minutes of ASMR for car guys
I really need an air hammer
After wire brushing and brake cleaning, as an extra measure, try applying some Ospho for rust protection before painting. Works good, lasts a long time.
Eric, watta h are you doing? 🙂 You have a plenty of washers and huge puller. Just take a washer near diameter you have, and just press out that rubber. I`ve done it a huge amount of times (sorry, i`m not a native but lovin` your videos) Always pushing wins of cutting and struggling. Anyway, huge Like from me as always. Great soundtrack "Eric vs bushings"
Seems like you could have widened the flanges for the upper control arm to make the bushings fit better.
I can see you got your iron intake for the month. No anemia here.
Would steam cleaning the vehicle before starting the project have been a useful enterprise?
Don't give me that Malarkey
How come you dont use a wire brush atachment for a drill or angle grinder?
lol drive right into a lake….. Usually I said Pop the hood toss in a grenade start it up and drive off a cliff lol
Hey Eric, some advice, when sanding down rust, put on a face /nose mask. These rust dust can cause respiratory problems.
