So GM is trying something new by offering a $1,500 a month subscription to drive different model Cadillac’s with some calling the program “Netflix-for-cars.” The program works like this. For $1,500 a month, the program covers all of the associated ownership costs and allows members to trade in and out of Cadillac’s 10 models up to 18 times a year.
It seems to be a lot like leasing but having more options and a month-to-month subscription. This experiment from General Motors is to see whether people are willing to treat driving a car like a Netflix account, where temporary and on-demand access outweighs the benefits of ownership.
