Our 1969 Dodge Charger plus a Hellcat swap equals a near perfect Mopar. Detroit Muscle goes hunting for a Mopar in the hopes of turning it from an Alabama backyard bucket into a showroom showstopper.
To transform this build into the perfect Mopar, we started with its looks. After 48 years, some of the body panels needed some serious repairs and replacement. Once the body was back in shape, the Charger received a Midnight Black makeover coupled with a standout Bloodred interior.
To match its good looks, we dropped a 707 horsepower Hellcat Engine and a 6-speed manual transmission for some tire shredding performance. Paired with upgraded suspension and brakes, this Mopar was ready for any street or showroom.
The finished build came out so well we decided to take it to auction, and you won’t believe how much it sold for. Since then, the Hard Charger has become one of PowerNation’s most iconic builds to date, and we are pumped to finally show off the full build to you all.

Really great model
In middle high school
I used to build a lot of model cars
I took
A 1965 doge charger
Widened all well-walls
I got some really great looking wheels
Chrome.
Redesigned the rear deck including an additional wind damping wing on the rear trunk.
Added extra Wide tries to fill the rear
Wheelwells
Added a black vinyl top painted the car lime green when I was done it was a showpiece!
excellent job.
beautiful and amazing, well done
Almost 5 hours of Dodge Charger excellence! Well I have my day planned! Thank you! VRRROOOOOOM!!!
I just don't understand why do all the aftermarket stuff like rims and make it a modern 6 speed car when it's a classic so keep it classic
Should have left it all original and kept the 4 speed
Great job! What was the total cost and time to do it?
I love everything you guys did and you choose the perfect Mopar.
Am I the only one who kinda liked it without all the shiny sh*t – just black? The top and the body look pretty cool.
DUDES that is an ENGINE not a motor therefore they are ENGINE MOUNTS!!!! F.F.S
Super bagnole !
Brass attracted to a magnet?😅
"Damn it Tommy, You're $80,000 over budget, and your budget was $80,000"!
geezus h…such a beautiful car a 69 really is…just amazing…thank you dodge!
YouTube is quickly becoming unwatchable garbage! And the YouTube police are ridiculous
What happened to the completion of 66 chevy nova you were working on
love the gear box build
أعمالكم جيدة لكن كلامكم كثير مما يصبح الفديو ممل
Fantastic car! But… am I wrong or it has no seatbelts?
The 440 with a top end kit doesn't make a Hellcat engine. Maybe find a Challenger.
I never liked the vinyl tops….but…❤this car.💯💪👏. Gorgeous!
It also went to the perfect home -“I’m gonna drive it.” She’s not going to be a Rapunzel.
Tommy is the best! I just discovered Powernation and will be watching 100%! One quick thought. The guy who had the car probably did the best he could with the body work, with his talents, tools, and money.
this is awesome, got it running in the background while I’m working on my cars sitting in the shop. Love the inspiration.
go do something. You live every day you die once..
4:40.23 what's going on under the front end?
No structural mods to the unibody needed to handle the added power?
