Hey Eric if you have never seen/heard them before,I suggest you look up group B rally cars.
Arguably the best sounding cars ever made. It's a shame they were shut down due to the danger.
brittish top gear sucks in my opinion they dis American cars to much and that extremely pisses me off I hate it they think there cars are so bad ass when there not if I was to ever meet Clarkson id hit him
I totally agree about US top gear – i'm from the UK and the US version was on BBC3 the other day and i really didn't like it – but i think i was expecting it to be like our regular top gear. As a car show – it was pretty good!
@EricTheCarGuy going to school takes time and money. i still think of myself as a technician just not something i do professionally. i have done ALLOT of small engine repair work as well. i have a 1971 IH built cub cadet 147 that a bought as a box of parts. i overhauled a kohler k301 and got that tractor running great. i mow my lawn and use it for snow removal. the tractor looks like its 40 years old but it performs great. i also have a 124 that im doing a full restro on as money and time allows
@ad356 It's too bad as it sounds like you would make a great technician. Thanks for your comment.
i like to think of myself as my own technician. im always fixing my own cars and i NEVER send any of my vehicles to the shop. i enjoy a good challenge. i swapped engines in my 89 camaro RS. i removed the 305 and installed a 350. in that 350 i installed a double roller timing chain, edlebrock performer plus cam, l89 heads, bored throttle body, headers, 3" exhaust, and a LSD rear axle. i would like to go to school for it but i dont have the time since i have a family with a newborn baby
@nico27004 I just run it back down with the bolt, I don't think I've ever used an install tool for that. I might tap it it onto the crank a bit with a plastic mallet to get a few threads going.
i was thinking about putting a Harmonic Balancer back on a 1984 toyota. i know there is a installer tool for that. guess my question is would any tool work for that. i mean the ones that dont mention its for a paticular model? like a generic one
@sjcarter7 Watch the first two seasons of the BBC Top Gear. Totally devoid of the essence that makes the later seasons so enjoyable. I agree with Eric. You have to give them time to come into their own, and like the early BBC days, maybe change out hosts.
Unfortunately they tried to 'copy' the Top Gear show here in Australia also however I think its fair to say it was a flop. The UK version is very well produced, has great presenters and access to even bettter cars – really a tough act to follow I think. That said I dont mind the US top gear or its presenters
@sjcarter7 I understand where your coming from and you do have a point I just hope they develop their own characters rather than trying to fill the shoes of others. Thanks for the comment.
Hey Eric I love all your stuff, please subscribe my page as I just can't get going, I want to make vids of country things, yea I know it's not a cool as car stuff but please click that button as I need help !!!
Donald from Scotland
@HONDAxACURA That would be cool, I'll look into it.
@EricTheCarGuy Haha I meant 200th video not 200th FATR man haha
You should come to the be an audience on Top Gear USA. 🙂
@Mecal00 Excellent point, but I would say the comparisons are warranted to some degree since they share the same name. Thanks for the comment.
@offroadingmachine007 Am I that close?
@punkenduro Interesting take on the matter. I was under the impression that American Top Gear was under the British 'umbrella' but I can see how that wouldn't be the case if that is indeed the case. Keen observation however thanks very much for the comment.
@nightmathzombieethan Yea the production value of British and American Top Gear is outstanding. Thanks for your input and for the comment.
@cd1str013r I'm not familiar with the school or their accreditation. With education you want to make sure you can get a job when you get out of school so I would do some research on those that have graduated from that school and if you can talk to some of them personally to see if they feel they got a good education and a good job based on what they learned there. Good luck.
@shanwade Good luck, know that's not really a Honda though, it's an Isuzu Trooper.
@Bobman84 Especially if my 200 lb butt did the jumping.
I like Top Gear USA and have since the first episode. I'm clearly in the minority. I think too many people are making a direct comparison to Top Gear UK, which has had 17 seasons to develop!
Do something badass for your 200th video Eric!
So THAT's why Volkswagen door latch modules fail! Ah HA!
american top gear wont work. heres why:
bbc funds top gear uk, so outside money, so they can say whatever they want, this car sucks, this car is bad ass, this ones ehh.
american top gear, funded by commercials. dodge wont pay for a show to say a charger sucks. gm wont pay for a show to say the corvette sucks.
just my $0.02
I agree…they ARE getting better, and I'm starting to "come around" in terms of liking U.S. Top ear. I agree that they shouldn't try to copy the British version, but I DO think they should keep the same format, i.e. the "weird/silly" tests and their camera work…they always have a knack for capturing great perspective shots and beautiful wide scenery shots. Oh, and through this whole vid, it looks like your Element is stalking you in the background…careful Eric…it's watching you!
TOP GEAR
Hey Eric I'm thinking about enrolling in Hennessey Tuning School to learn the fine art of turbocharging and supercharging. Do you think it's a good move, any other option I should consider other than Hennessey?
Lol. I wouldn't buy that VW after he did that. Surely the door adjustment would have changed slightly after jumping on it?
@JTheGuitarPlayer
If you watch carefully (particularly the latest series) you will notice that they don't insult other countries except in irony and in good humour. More often, they have mixed views about the UK and its past good history – think Jaguar E-type, and bad history (MG, Rover, etc). In one episode they describe how in the '70s the Rover production line drove unpainted cars from one end of the factory to the paint shop on an uncovered road…. Imagine the paint finish after that!
Hey Eric! Cool to see the Happy Dance. You should try it, next time you fix a Honda.. hahahaha..
