i have a 1999 ford contour with a no start no crank condition. In the beginning the fuel pump went out. After continually trying to start after the fuel pump was replaced it went to a one click noise but the fuel is flowing freely. Battery is new and terminal post are clean and in working order. The starter has been tested and passed as well as the alternator. I turned the crank manually and it turned freely. I tested the starter relay I had continuity but did not have a quick probe tool to test it while active. Do you have any ideas if I replace the starter relay and that doesn't work?
Hey Eric, I have a 2003 VW Jetta TDI 1.9 The car starts easy and runs great when cold. When up to operating temp it still runs great but if I shut it off it is hard to start. Long cranking time and the motor even shakes a lot. I replaced the engine temp sensor thinking this may be the problem. NO luck. Have good fuel, No leaks in fuel system that I can find. Took it to VW dealer and they said the starter was the issue . Slow cranking after warm without glow plug assist. I changed the started which I agree was weak. Still have the same issue. I unplug the temp sensor and try to start when warm and no change. No trouble codes. Waiting on a VAG-COM to arrive so I can check injector timing. Ever seen this issue or any suggestions . Thanks in advance. Andy
Hey Eric, i have a 1996 Honda Accord 4L and just recently i have started having this problem where i startup the engine when its cold and it goes through this like rough "coughing" period and then evens out after a couple of seconds and i press on the gas. Any ideas what that could be? Im thinking the spark plugs but im not sure
hi eric happy holidays hey when you gonna warm up the motor from the mustang and throw it in the Fairmont im waiting to see it do low 9 sec quarter miles hehehe
Sometimes I watch Eric TCG just to relax. 🙂
automatic transmission is like a sponge and a stick shift like a brick with a disk
anyone could answer this
why automatic car driving much nicer than the a normal stick shift in Netherlands in a standard bullshit automatic is more reliable than an awkward man with a stick shift driving the clutch wrong and burns like a freak stovepipe and smells terrible special so I could smell a bad driver far far away that's the Netherlands baby
I have a Ford Contour 6 cylinder and my back tail light is out just the left one I don't know where the fuse is and I need help

hi eric i have an audi a3 2ltr fsi on a 54 plate i recently changed coolant/antifreeze, the temp after a run is about 70-80 good heat from the heaters when i stopped the fans were on for brief while but the bottom hose from the radiator was cold is this normal please would appreciate your help thanks
There is a TSB for the R18 civics. 2006 and 2007 model years were most messed up. The engine mount often fails and makes a rough rough idle. Those engines had lots of goofy problems the first 2 years, but they are basically still using them today with only ignition modifications.
The R18 is a drive-by-wire BTW. Electric throttle body–to clean i usually remove the air filter, blast seafoam down the throat, reassemble, and blow white smoke.
Hey Eric, first off, Great channel love your vids. 2nd off is there anyway you can do some work on Saab 9-5's ? Ive had a 9-3 and now a 9-5 turbo wagon. Ive found that saabs are VERY unusualy cars and have a lot of weird little ticks that are very hard to figure out if your not a saab guy…. any help on them would be great. Love the car, working on it though is like trying to read brail with no fingers. needless to say it often sucks. (although I did successfully repair and reinstall a turbo for the first time EVER.) keep up the good work brother, thank you a ton for all the things Ive learned off of you.
I nave a 95 ford escort the starter will start the engine but starter will not disengage I can turn the engine off and the starter continues to turn the engine and have to disconnect the batter cable to stop it
make a video of the pistons and the ring replacement, head removele and gasket replacement on the honda k20 or k24 motors . thank you i would appreciate it
Hey Eric can you please help me out here I have a 2002 RAV4 4cly. AWD I turn the car on runs good soons you hit the throttle the car dies, took it to the dealer they said the ecm was bad replaced it still same problem dealer said the inside wires might be still wet due to the window being Broke had check engine light on for both up steam sensor I changed that as well same thing still any suggestions on turns off when you hit the throttle thanks
Hi eric PLEASE don't let those 30 second adds be placed at the start of your videos. I know you get paid for them but the 30 second adds make me want to not watch the video. I don't mind the skipable 5 second adds but 30 seconds which you can't skip. 🙂
Way to long intro and sound and video go back10 years in quality.
Hey Eric, I am currently enrolled in Pinellas Technical College studying Automotive Technology. We watch your videos in class and most of the time you give much better explanations than our instructor 😂. I just had a question that I know you could explain far better than my instructors. I was wondering if you could go in depth about what happens when water enters the engine, or "hydro lock?" I don't know what the term is for it, and I don't really know what happens internally. Your response would be greatly appreciated.
Had the same problem as the first guy Stephen. Turned out to be a front CV / half shaft. Outer boots were torn and expelled all the lube inside. After years of driving, one day they ran dry and the heat expanded the metal inside causing them to crack and deform inside the joint. Under acceleration and deceleration the angle of the shaft changed with the suspension causing it to be smooth under acceleration but vibrate like a out of balance tire under deceleration.
Was the dude you scolded before the show started Peter Kapica? If so he's such a pain in the bupkis…. loves to get his content in the public eye and really wears out his welcome…. seen his nonsense on several shows, forums, pages etc…
Your the best
Hi, Eric! I need help with my 02 Z06 Vette. I stalled on a steep hill one day, started it back up and revved it hard up the hill. Next thing I know, the engagement point of the clutch is now at the last top 1 inch of travel of the pedal. I have no clutch slip, and I checked the fluids. Everything else seems fine. What could have gone wrong? Thanks!
hi im Dakota my mom has a problem with the break pad is like non stopping so how u fixed that
Hey Eric, I have a 2001 Pontiac Aztek GT and today when I was on the highway it began to sputter when I began to accelerate pass someone. The check engine light came on and flashed for about a minute and then went off. I did not have any problems the rest of the way home. When I got home I check the code and was for a misfire in cylinder 5. I'm thinking it could be my coil pack going up because it is starting to have the same symptoms it had a year and a half ago when I had it replaced before.. The symptoms are misfiring going up hill and the misfire will stop if the RPM's rise above 2k and what happened today on the highway. Should I go ahead and replace the coil or look at something else. Thanks!
Hey hello fellow car entousiasts hum i saw that video you made about the 1997 altima that had a misfire problem and i just got one thats got about the same thing except it dowsnt have the misfire chek engine just the maf sensor and the knock sensor also the engine does a little rumble everytime it passes 1800 rpm it stops doing it whenever it gets warm enough (i might get a little struggle communicating here just cause i have suckie internet and stuff please dont mind it)
Hey EricTheCarGuy. I was having a clicking noise when i try to start my Toyota Camry and I took it to O'Reilly Auto Parts to have the battery tested and they said it was the battery. So I replaced my battery and the sound barely went away but its still there, especially when its cold. Do you think I need a new starter?
