Marc and Tommy rip into the automatic transmission tearing it out of our turbo-charged Police Interceptor and swapping it for a head jerking manual 5 speed. Then they take to the track in hot pursuit of some quick times.

Had to find an old video because the new ones are terrible.
I have the same after market center console in my '07 Crown Vic and that's where the similarities end, lol
I would NEVER treat this car like that! I have one, and it's really hard getting cars this day and time. I drive mine like an old man!
I want one of these…
Another build show that missed half the work.
WHAT ABOUT THE PEDAL!!!!!???? AAAAUGH! Literally the most challenging part where folks need the most help! I was so looking forward to a solution.
But at least now I know which mufflers I should buy. SMH
would adding a few hundred pounds in the trunk using sand bags help it grip better?
the auto has better parts now, thang shifts quicker than yo mommas bf out the house
Is there another "how to" video with pedal install ect.?
What about ecu tuning? No way that doesn’t need anything
Good swap no details on clutch pedal
Better late than never. Here's a clip how manual clutch installation. It's cable type. Not hydraulic. https://youtube.com/clip/Ugkxhza6fCZw7Z1neJA9_PVMdDHt-lIVQGgz
Man i'd love to see more of that crown vic content
Ls swap?
4.6 4v?
7.3?????
You have to remember when those tires are spinning you are going no were????
I don't drive an automatic my daily driver is a 6 speed manual is fun to drive.
Sure would have been nice to know what they did for pedals.
wast of time no clutch pedal info
He dented the hood when he slid across it LoL
Thay fail to mention, the driveshaft used will only work with the trans they used….
I can't hear you over all this awesomeness 🤣
Fabulous upgrade to a great American sedan. Love the 5-speed manual swap, but the video largely overlooked fitting the clutch pedal. How did you do that, please?
0:58 "It does burnouts now" That's a load of BS, I have a stock 09 police interceptor and that thing does two-wheel peels. If you can't get it to do a burnout it's because you can't drive 👍
I like how tommy was like “I don’t care about beating your time I just want to drive it” and he drove it like I would..smash that gas and dump that clutch!!!…
Do more crown Vic build videos!!!!!
This is the dumbest part of this build. That's why they didn't show it.
Does the cruise control still work after this mod?
Great section on installing a clutch pedal guys… Not!
For those wondering about the clutch pedal…. A company called ADTR sells then for the swap and they cost around $400. Sucks they didn’t go over that in the video
1/8 mile times?
Definitely not unheard of in the panther platform communities. Most people who seriously mod their vics, marauders etc use 5 speeds and 4.10 rears
The wry history uniquely serve because insect coincidentally flower besides a worried ear. evasive, one grenade
I’d like to see how you put the clutch pedal in and what you used so maybe you could do to show it on another episode
4:43 taking the cars butt plug out like nothing, lol I want to do this to my vic
This was a fun project but either Marc or Tommy is misremembering their history. I may prefer driving a stick shift but it does have certain vulnerabilities at the drag strip. The 4 speed used in the early '60s, Borg Warner's T-10 had a reputation for being fragile and often failed when used to launch full sized factory super stock cars at the drag strips. This led the big three to develope their own heavy duty four speeds: The Muncie M20/M21/M22, The Ford Toploader, and Chrysler's A833. One of the most highly regarded transmissions during that time was the Chrysler A727 Torqueflite, which was used on the early match racing "funny cars" when they based on cut up compact cars.
Now that electronic fuel injection and forced induction have allowed hot rodders to produce street engines with power levels that were undreamed of in the '60s, many of the strongest engines are fitted to automatic transmissions, partly because it is easier to modify a slushbox to reliably handle over 1000 hp at the drag strip than it is to do so with a manual transmission. The other factor is that properly launching and shifting a high powered manual transmission car is limited to gods like Ronnie Sox.
The four speed manual transmission is a well loved part of the muscle car era, and a well driven four speed could offer performance advantages over an automatic transmission, but it was not always the best or even the strongest option either back in the day or now.
That is A LOT of work for something that will very likely run high 13s to low 14s in the 1/4
Hey PowerNation. Shoutout from Oakland, CA. Great work on the transmission upgrade for this Crown Victoria… On this video @11:36 & @12:41, I couldn’t help but notice an audible clicking during the cooling off period of the vehicle. My Crown Vic has been making that same exact sound lately. If you’ve heard it before, where is that sound coming from?
How much for the car ? Build more and sell 'em lol
Sure would have been nice to have the automatic 1/4 mile run times to compare to. The "stick" would be embarrassed.
I'm curious what the times would have been with the auto just to compare.
