funny how they seem to have gone through a doctrine on how to talk on the show
In 2005 I bought an F100 from a guy in Texas for $7K + shipping, looks identical to your 74. Then l bought a stroked Keith Craft 421 short-block that made 618 hp and 548 ft.lb. Then added a complete 4-link system, the design of which, I was fortunate to get from Art Morrison.
You can make power with fords . no need to go to that chevy Ls stuff!:)))😮 i had a 351 W in a car i had and it had. CJ HEADS AND MANIFOLD i guess you guys don't know about fords power mixtures they did in the 70s??😊
2 bolt or 4 bolt main?
Save the dumb LSXyzAbc (or what ever the F#^% you guys call it) Comments!
A 106° centerline isnt a cam for a heavy vehicle like a truck!!
Hold up wait a minute….I just did what you did but mines is bored 40 over and not elder but equivalent…and I'm running a 600 elder and you read forms and they say 700- 750 to much 650 perfect…some one pls ?? Help me understand… because I was thinking a 700 would wake it up a little
Na, you can get 400hp out of a 351w with bolt on parts, at the crank! Heads, cam, and intake, just like any other engine! Start with heads and intake. Then cam and carb! Ran cheap Windsors for years! You cam get 400hp at the crank with a 306, for a while!😂😂
Why use a flat tappet when a hydraulic roller give a lot more power
I predict that it's going to start burning oil, after you bolt on fresh heads.
Didn’t know We-man started building engines.
Why not go full roller cam? They make a retro mod kit that ditches the flat tappet lifters for rollers. Seen serious issues with after market flat tappet lifters lately and for not that much difference in cost, you can eliminate that problem as well as be able to run a much more aggressive cam
Yeah I never throw a Chevy engine in a Ford
Cool episode. I like it. With that being said , modern media is most chevy or dodge as far as domestic goes . He'll we can't even get a dedicated ford episode without something else popping up. This episode had that 08 Silverado, I know you guys do adds to pay bills but damn man . Ford guys/gals are often disappointed.
Does this also Work in a Marine aplication wir a 351 w
I'd rather have a pedal car than an "loser solution" engine.
I agree with some comment pistons and cleaning old parts. Don't know, would an electric fuel pump be better than stock? Can someone answer plz
It's been awhile since this video came out where in the world did you get the idea to point the number one cylinder to the back of the engine. The number one cylinder is on the back of the engine. Even though Ford doesn't know how to number their cylinders, you'll always point the rotor towards the number one cylinder. But I've only been working on cars since 1964. I've never seen anybody fail to do that. The only time that changes is on a Chrysler product where they are smart enough to actually design the distributor to only go either in Phase or out of phase by 180°.
I have never watched any of these people on YouTube, nobody, show how to phase a distributor that slightly out of phase. And there is a procedure for that.
And everybody makes too big a deal out of a little bit of dry rot on tires. Pray some 303 protectant on it, even on the tread let it dry overnight and leave it the hell alone. If you think they're a bit dry do a second application.
Title of video is " improving bottom end ". Guess they don't know which end is up or down. 😜😜😜😜😜
An "LS" is just as bad as a Ford.🤘
This LS Chevy is a good motor in any Chevy Vehicle. That is why Ford had to create the 5.0 Coyote. If you are going to engine swap out that in there and you will have a beast 380 to 500 hp. All depends on how you set up the ECU programming. Plus it's way lighter than in old iron block.
