I’ll admit, I have a thing for Fords of this vintage. This 1965 Comet however, was an exceptional build in my opinion, and yes I know it’s a Mercury. That said, I have to thank Chad Hill of Hot Rod Chassis and Cycle for his time and this interview. I think they did a great job of keeping things classic but turning the volume up just enough to keep things ‘interesting’. 600hp is nothing to sneeze at and the 6 speed and 4:10’s will move it along nicely.
Thanks for watching.

Car was painted by unique customs and coach works. North Pekin Illinois.
sweet ride
great
I'll be damned, I had a '65 Comet Caliente. The guy I bought it from painted it and put some wheels on it….it looked great. Unfortunately, beauty was only skin-deep on this car…..the reality is that the floorboards were practically gone, and the anemic 302 under the hood could barely keep up with a Taurus.
Just fucked up my new pants watching this video thanks
i didn't you you went to SEMA… i was there as well, 1st time for me and it was quiet exciting!
hey eric im from pittsburgh i live in moon township if that means anything to you, i plan on going to rosedale tech from watching your videos!
More car, less talking heads.
Pretty good interviewing skills!
sweet car. thanks Eric!
Eric, I haven't seen you repair a customers car in what seems like months(although I haven't seen every video). Are you still a auto mechanic? Or are you running a different kind of business, Iam just curious.
Awesome build
He kept saying "We hope/believe it will" So he has no idea, but it looks good on paper.
4.10's in the rear won't be that bad with a .5 overdrive on the 6 speed. I was fine until the guy started talking "this is a heritage build". Well no, a heritage build would have a Boss 302 or a 390 or something to that tune in it, not an aluminum small block stroker and efi.
1965 was a good year if i say so my self.ÂÂÂ
Only one mistake, the 64 / 65 Mustangs were designed using parts from other Ford lines, mostly the Ford Falcon.
There is no shot of the entire car ! 🙁
Bonus video #2! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rGv_-y88s0
Wish I had the kind of money it takes to make a car look that good. Paint is so expensive! I can do much of the mechanical work, or trade work/parts to get that stuff done. But there's no substitute for a primo super-expensive paint-job. Simply cannot get that kind of look without spending $7 to $10K on a paint job.
Sounds like they haven't even driven the thing yet.
