This video shows the process of the clock light bulb replacement on a 2001 Honda Odyssey. I know I messed up my dash a bit doing this job but my screw up can provide a valuable lesson for you. In short, don’t be too hard on me for that. It is MY van after all. If you’re interested in how I often fix issues like this, there is an extended version of this video available to Premium Members of my website. Here’s a link for details on how you can do that.

That said, clock light bulbs go out on Hondas all the time. Personally, it annoys me not to be able to see the time at night. The bulbs themselves are not that expensive. With a little time and effort, I’m sure you’ll have yours changed out in no time. So if not seeing the time at night in your Odyssey bothers you, this video and a new bulb can help.

  1. Eric!!!! Never put your screws up on the dash ! ( they are a pain to get out of your defroster vents )😁😆. I put mine in the ashtray … ( because I can lose a bowling ball in a 4 square foot area…..)

  2. The double din radio.i installed has a ignorant bright display you can see the clock from 2 cars back smh i like the info tho..also that. Sliding door hinge was insane both very very good descriptive vids!!

  3. Hi Eric, I'm wanting to change my 2005 honda odyssey light for clock. Can't seem to find any info… can you help

  4. Hello Mr. Eric
I have the Odyssey 2001 like you have and it have a problem with the CD/radio. Everything on but NO SOUND to the speaker. I try to check the fuse #11 ( inside light-radio still good. Can you let me know what happen with it ?
    Thank you Mr Eric.

  5. eric, thanks for complete, simple demonstration! finally replaced the light in my 2002 van after it has been out for many years.

  6. Thank you Eric, I’ve just replaced the light bulb and it’s working again.

  7. Awesome video. Had no problem changing out the bulb. Used a baseboard pry tool (non-marring) instead of small flat head screwdriver..no damage. Thanks!

  8. Thanks! Our bulb has been out for YEARS! How about this: After we use our 4-way flashers, the turn signals don't work!?? With repeated pressing of the flasher button (many, many times) they will operate again. Do I need a new flasher switch?

  9. I prefer removing the center part of the dash where the shift lever is. Put the van in 1st and put your hand behind the rubber flap and pull, it will come right off without damaging anything.

  10. Have you had any issues with the odyssey climate control? My power on the climate control panel goes out. Ive tried replacing the heater blower transistor.

  11. Just wanted to say thank you! This helped me finally fixing my van's clock light. Plus I was able to avoid messing up the dash and save some cash by doing it myself. You get two 👍👍.

  12. Why place the screws on the dash, where they can roll off, when there is a perfectly good cup holder on the console?

  13. My 01 oddy clock light went out, gave the dashboard above it a few knocks and it came back on. Ehhh

  14. I watched this to see if you'd mention anything about the hazard switch. My turn signals work but my hazards will not go on. I have an 04 Odyssey. I don't get it

  15. I can't wait to do this to my 2002. For the past 14 years I thought Honda was stupid for making an LCD clock with no light. Ours never worked from day 1.
