Years ago, PowerBlock caught up with Burt Reynolds when the Detroit Muscle team took on a Trans Am. We asked Burt what the Bandit meant for him and this is what he had to say.

“It’s just a flood of memories,” Reynolds recalled after seeing the Bandit several years later. He talked about how he and Jerry Reeves both had seen the original Bandit for the first time and instantly felt a rush. He said he’s had several people pull up next to him in their Trans Ams and say “It’s your fault!” to which he replies “I’m sorry partner, bet you had a good time!”.

  1. I wonder how old this interview is, it has to be in the two thousand single digits because Burt started looking very frail by the two thousand teens and walked with a cane.

  2. they LS swapped it….. meh.
    .
probably better for an old dude…. no tuning stuff every other week
but a 427 with a big old carb just looks better in that engine bay
    .
i dont even like trans ams…. more of a buick dude
but despite being 26…. a love my small block GMs…..
400 SBC ftw….light, lots of cubes, and most every part is the same as a 350

  3. Love it! Burt is so funny and such a natural storyteller. Thanks so much for doing these interviews with the great Burt Reynolds. There'll never be another like him.
